Do you curse at everyone like that (telemarketers, police men asking for donations on the phone, VETS asking for donations on the phone,etc...) or are you just picking on JW's because they're easy targets.

If you talk like that to people in general, then I don't want to know what your religion is, either.

The Bible is something that should be shared, and God's message of hope for the future should be spread throughout the whole world. Jesus made a living by doing this, it was his only purpose in life. Take a look around you, watch the evening news, and you'll see just how much the world needs some serious help and an intervention. The world will never change for the better if there is no one out there to promote a positive change.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "nag" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

The reason why Jehovah's Witnesses go door-to-door is to follow the commission that Jesus gave all of his followers to preach the good news of God's Kingdom. It is a life-saving work that we do and are commissioned to carry out this assignment to anyone who will listen. It is a fulfillment of the prophecy found at Matthew 24:14. Next time, you could probably get more of your questions answered if you asked them politely; likely I don't think anyone would be inclined to talk to you if you cursed at them. Try a more mellow approach next time and I'm sure they will answer any questions you may have about what we believe and why we do the things we do. Of course, if you are not comfortable with doing that, feel free to ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses or you can e-mail me anytime you wish.

I don't know. I've never met a Jehova winesses.

However, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and we firmly believe that we are an integral part of Matthew 24:14 where Jesus said that the good news of the Kingdom would be preached worldwide before the end comes. Somebody has to do it.

You have the choice : to, or not to open the door . . .
then if you choose to open the door, you can just
excuse your self for some kind of reasons. . . . . .

I know they're trying to take your time then leave
you a booklet then come back for some kind of
donation . . . right? . . .
if this is the case then don't take any booklet at all .
but pls don't abuse them like that.. they are just like you ,,
in fact even better... they're doing a servanthood... .
.

It's called freedom of speech.
If you don't want them "nagging" you, then when they do come to your door just smile and say "no, thank you, I'm not interested." If you can't find it in yourself to be that nice to them, then just put up a NICE note on your door..."I'm not converting...I'm happy where I am. Thank you."

Ohhh ha ha ha haha

A friend of mine LOVES it when the Jehova's show up at his front door.

He always keeps his Anglican Sermon Notes in a little box, along with his Bible

Whenever they show up he says:

"Come in..... I've been waiting for you..."

Apparently that really scares some of them

Well, see ya
