I wonder what would happen if we held a vote on abortion rights and only women and girls from the ages of 15 to about 50 could vote (most women don't have babies after 50 and - hopefully- not many before the age of 15).
Of course, that brings up a whole new set of problems - should there be an IQ test (is it important to be smart enough to understand all the medical and ethical ramifications to vote?); should only women/girls who have already had one pregnancy be allowed to vote? Should women who have already gone through menopause and are under 50 years old be barred from voting?
Voting on life and death. What a huge responsibility we have taken on - playing God - now we are trying to decide exactly who should be allowed to play the God role.
Just remember when the decision is made - we really are deciding on life and death. I just have to say that I'm glad that when my Mom was a teenager abortion wasn't an option or this page just might be blank. (I know, somebody will jump on that one!)
Anyway - no matter how many barbs we throw at each other, just remember that it is life and death.

I kind of almost see where you're coming from, but circumcision and abortion or two totally different things. A woman has absolutely nothing to do with a circumcision, where if a woman gets an abortion it's some man somewhere's baby, so there are two people responsible for the baby.

It takes two to make a baby - at least last time I checked.
So often, the rights of the father are ignored in this debate. People scream about the rights of a woman over her body - but the baby is not entirely hers. A point so often missed.
Many men are devasted when they learn that their wife/girlfriend has gone out and gotten an abortion without even telling them. They feel like they have lost a part of themselves. Yet they are told they have no rights.
That baby would not exist without the father. It would not be growing inside the womb of the mother.
It is the woman's body - but the baby is not her sole property.
And we need to stop thinking that it is.

Disagree; poor analogy; abortion serves a practical purpose, while a circumcision is a cruel, archaic, and barbaric religious custom, performed on people (usually babies) which serves absolutely no practical purpose. If a designer was truly intelligent, would "he" not have designed the male properly before birth? A woman should not be neither forced to give birth or have an abortion. If the father does not want the baby, the woman should understand that before she makes her decision.

A great debate. Women should decide for themselves. Additionally, Men should have the decision to be circumsized as well. Unfortunately, men do not have that choice at birth and is manipulative and wrong. It appears that women have more rights then men in this debate.

If the woman's life was the only one involved in an abortion, then you'd be right.
Since abortions always involve a life other than the woman's, you are wrong.

If the father wants the baby to be born should his choice count less than the woman's?

YES! I can see both sides of an abortion argument, but sorry guys, I really don't think you should have a say in what women do with their own bodies.
Plus, I hate how they use the term "pro-life." The other side isn't "anti-life." We're pro-choice, meaning butt out of our lives and at least give us options. Men shouldn't get to legislate their version of morality.
