I am not exactly cash strapped but as a self-sustaining (no money from parents) student could have really used the money.

You are an honest person. That's how we should all be.
Question back to you though. Did you get a reward? If it was my wallet I would have thanked you with a reward of some sort.

Once I left my wallet in a shopping trolley in the parking lot of our supermarket. When I came looking for it I was amazed because the trolley collector had found it and was looking for me. He had seen my car drive away just as he saw the wallet.

He was very happy to return the wallet and I gave him $20 because I also had my chequebook with the wallet.

Next time I went to the supermarket he saw me and yelled out that he had bought a pair of shoes with the reward money.

I consider myself very lucky that a honest person had found my wallet.

Just know that you made someone happy knowing that there are still a lot of honest people around.

I think you did the right thing, especially if you knew who the wallet belonged to in the first place, I always tell my kids that if they find something like that, then they should always return it, first think of how you would feel if that was your wallet and you lost that much money. You did a great think and someone should pat you on your back for that, sometimes not having the money and doing justice for someone else by being honest, makes for a better reward.

As you do to others so shall be done unto you,Let me tell you a short story.About 16 years ago my God daughter went to the mall to cash her tax return check-3,500-a few weeks after giving birth. While she was waiting for the bus she set her pocket book down when the bus arrived she grabbed her son and left her bag on the pavement. She later arrived home realized her mistake and called me in a panic.I asked her this simple question,What would you do if you had found someones pocket book with this amount of money in it.She said without question she will return it.to cut a long story short.About an hour later a young college student came to her door with her bag having found her money and searched for her I.D he managed to find her.
You may never know how many lives you have touched by your selfless act but your reward will follow you your whole life through.I am filled with so much pride and hope in you and send you my Love and eternal blessing.

What goes around comes around.

I believe in doing things to others what I like them to do to me.

You're GREAT Person. You should give kudos to yourself. If you were the person who has lost his wallet with $200, what you'd expect the other person to do. How did you feel the moment you gave the wallet back? (Thats what you should feel . . . Not the thought inside your head, which feeds alot of mental clutter, and pulls you down, or enhances your mind power). Listen to the feeling of happiness, contentment, or whatever you felt in your heart when you returned the wallet. NOT the thought in your mind.

Hope this helps. Let people do tons of good things, and make the world a better place.

Real great person. 1. It's the right thing to do.
2. The owner of the wallet may have needed it much more than you.
3. You've shown qualities that may help you and others in future.
BUT you counted the money. A Real Great Person of the highest quality would have given it back without looking at anything except the owner's name and address.

You absolutely did the right thing. Once, while working a minimum wage job, I found a VERY expensive ring, I mean it was A ROCK! I returned it to the owner, and never regretted it. That whole philosophy about what you give, you get back ten-fold is true. Since then I have been given many pieces of lovely jewelry, in love and affection, which all hold a higher value to me than that particular ring. The peace of mind given to me for that action can never be replaced. Project your wanting of cash, and abundance, and it will come to you. Your needs will be met!

You did the right thing, no questions asked. It would be selfish on your part to keep it, because you are a student and could use it. How about the person who lost the wallet. How many people would $200.00 feed? I don't think it makes you a real great person or an idiot, it is more about your morals and ethics. Somebody raised you properly.

The wallet that you found was not a birthday gift, it was an opportunity to demonstrate your maturity and integrity.

when you return a lost item, you are "doing the right thing" and making someone feel better and motrivated to "pass it forward" or do a good deed for someone else. If that happened each day, what do you think our world would become?

That's right! I would be proud to know you!!!!

I would have to say that you are a real great person. Its takes a real great person to do what you did. Imagine how good that person felt when you returned their wallet to them. Imagine how great you would have felt if it was the other way around and someone returned your wallet. God also knows the good deed you have done and will reward you in due time.

a real great person. NO amount of money is worth a lifetime of guilt--my husband had his wallet returned to him and he forked over all the cash that was in it--about $47 to the guy who returned it, but that's just him--a real great person.
