Okay, if the ten commandment still stand, then why in the new testament did God all of the sudden split into a triple God, the son, the father and the holy sprit? Although they won't admit it, some Christians hold Jesus closer to their hearts, or so it seems, than God. Is this following the commandment? Is it just more of their hypocrisy?

Christian's advocate: "God did not become three entities in the New Testament, for God would have to exist in another dimension (or reality, even). Therefore, I view God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as three parts of the same Being, who exists in many different dimensions, to be existing everywhere and somewhere. He is All and One!"

Humanist: "I suppose that was derived from the Bible. If I am correct, the Bible is a compilation of texts collected over decades long past. Not only would that violate a fundamental rule of human knowledge (i.e. enough evidence ought to be present), but merely the fact that they were put down on material scriptures points to the fact that such supernatural ideas could not be corroborated with substantial evidence, thereby dooming the purported purpose of all of Creation!"

Something like that..

Christianity has digressed from the concept of the Oneness of God, however, into a vague and mysterious doctrine that was formulated during the fourth century CE. This doctrine, which continues to be the source of controversy both within and outside the Christian religion, is known as the Doctrine of the Trinity. Simply put, the Christian doctrine of the Trinity states that God is the union of three divine persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - in one divine being. Christians must guard themselves from ever claiming that they worship three gods since this would be a heresy of the worst kind. Christians are commanded to always refer to them all as ONE God. This belief was first put to words in the famous "Creed of Nicea" in 325C.E.

It was never mentioned by Jesus himself about trinity or by saying "I am God". It was translated that way during Creed of Nicea until now. No one can completely explicitly show proves that Jesus is God or Trinity concept.

The early orthodox christians, during Jesus time as well as a few years after Jesus gone believe Jesus is only a prophet and not God and also believe in 1 absolute God as what all prophets (David, Abraham, Aaron, Moses and more) thought to human before Jesus.

St. Paul was the one who started the idea of trinity and salvation.

Well supposedly they claim that Jesus is G-d, along with the Holy Spirit. It is the different personalities of G-d, not seperate people. Jesus is really G-d coming in human form in order to die so that people can be saved.

They even go so far as to take the Shema, the verse that every Jew recites multiple times a day as the statement and foundation of faith "Hear O Israel, the L-rd Your G-d, the L-rd is One" as not being antithema to the Trinity. They actually say that it proves it because G-d's name is mentioned three times and that the trinity is really G-d!

It is one of the main reasons the Jews won't accept Jesus, along with the fact that he didn't fulfill the prophecies of the Messiah.

If you know where to look in the Old Testament you can see all three persons of the Trinity. At times you see God working, at times you see the Holy Spirit (or just "the Spirit"), and even at times you see Jesus. In Psalm 91:16 God says "With long life I will satisfy them and show them my salvation." The Hebrew word used for "salvation" is the word from which we derive the name Jesus. In Genesis 1:27 it says: "So he created human beings in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them." The Hebrew words used there for "he" should be plural, meaning all three persons of the Trinity were present and working.
All that to say this: The teaching of the Trinity is not only from the New Testament, but also the Old.
And Jesus IS God, so by holding Jesus "closer to their hearts than God" is not breaking the commandment in question.

In the Christian faith, they believe that all three are one while at the same time acting separately and having separate personalities. This is a good question to think about! I don't know if it could be classified as hypocrisy but there does seem to be a contradiction here.

These are just masks for different faces of the One; as are all deities. Is Wisdom personified as female in the old testament? If so; then it would be a quad god so why not join the pantheists and wiccans and look for the ones face everywhere and in multiple personalities tailored for the worshiper to gain harmony with Nature and the Cosmos.

Brightest Blessings, Sister Whillow.

I agree with you that MANY Christians do NOT follow the most fundamentla dictate of their Faith. The relevant term being CHRISTian. They purport to follow Christ and yet sepnd MOST of their lives trying to figure out the Old Testement. The fail to REALIZE that the entire OLD testement is nothing MORE than a BIRTH announcement. Something to give the folks (Hebrews) a WAY of anticipating and heralding the arrival of their "messiah". It was intended to PREPARE them for "his" arrival.

The NEW testement is his actual arrival, life, and "saving message". He gave them the MESSAGE repeatedly over and over again. He gave it to them in Parables (stories that would serve as a MORAL gujide. They couldn't figure it out, SO, he just came right out and TOLD them "LOVE", unconditional love. Love for EVERYONE, even their enemies. They STILL don't get it. (not all, but too many still don't get it). He said to "Follow me" and they interpreted it to mean BUILD a multi-trillion dollar EMPIRE (Religion) with HIM as his focus. That was NOT HIS intention. He wanted them to follow HIS Example and just LOVE, not worship HIM.

We Witches already KNEW that message and we LOVED, not only each other but, everyone and everythng in the Universe around us. We knew that even BEFORE Jesus came along, we knew it after as well. We were persecuted for knowing and believing and FOLLOWING. WEW know it STILL, and yet, many Christians STILL have not "recievede the message to LOVE. They still persecute those of our World who insist on LOVING. Even those among themselves who HAVE seen the message and follow it. They are the hypocrites, not the Christians who truly practice and follow Christ's example and LOVE. The moment a Christian picks up his/her Bible to "preach" from it and turns to ANY page in FRONT of the BOOK of Matthew, and uses it as the focus of his/her "lesson", that person is TRYING to avoid the TRUE message of Jesus. The same for any book AFTER the Book of John, he'she is trying to preach the interpretations of the Multi-Trillion dollar empire (the Religion of worshipping of Jesus). The bottom line is to follow Jesus, ALL you have to do is LOVE. There is NO interpretation of that word. LOVE, it's as simple of a commandment as is absolutely possible. yet, for many, it is the single hardest commandment to keep.
