I don't want to hear what Paul or other Church leaders said. -- I just want to hear what Jesus said.

Dear Royal -- your cite Matthew 5-4 which says that everyone who has ever mourned because of someone else's troubles is going to be set aside and go to Heaven. - Idiomatic expression for "blessed" at the time Jesus gave the Sermon on the mount.

Dear Brian - that word "perfect" in the orginal language meant - complete, ready for the task, not "flawless".

MARTHA....

Im in love with you. I love that you already knew the answer and then just rip apart everybody that thinks they can. You know this answer, so do I thats why I didnt answer it.

Clearly you never knew Jesus never said that but you had the most common answers locked and loaded. The point is it cant be answered because its a guess and those that try are falling into a deeper hole.

You can email me and debate me anytime. It would truly be refreshing talking religion to somebody that actually studied it.

Well done. I gave you a star. It was extremely entertaining.

Thanks for the smile.

Friend,

As a Jew, Jesus understood the implication of claiming to be God: It implies perfection.

So if we can prove that Jesus claimed to be God, then we can conclude that He implied His perfection as well.

John 10:30 and John 8:58 are examples of Jesus' claims to deity (and therefore perfection).

Secondly, Jesus receives worship and does not rebuke the ones who perform it. Only God is fit to be worshipped, particularly from a Jewish perspective; therefore, Jesus is God. See Matthew 2:11, 14:33, 28:9-20, Luke 24:52, John 9:38, and John 20:28.

Thirdly, there is Jesus' resurrection. This validates His claims as true, as if He were a fraud or a liar, He could not have risen, never again to die.

May God bless you.

You will not find in the Holy Bible Jesus saying himself to be perfect but what Jesus did say is for us to be perfect
even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:48

Now you have to line up scripture with scripture you just can't take one verse and say this is so for the most part. Then Jesus told his disciples that if you have seen me you have seen the Father. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh to redeem us back from the devil. God requires blood for the remission of sins and only Jesus blood was good enough. That is why God said This is my beloved Son in Him I am well pleased.
Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God for the sin of the world which bottom line is disobedience. when we disobey we tend to go our own way. I know because I speak from experience.

I pray that this has helped you.

God is the "Perfect One".

Jesus (PBUH) told a select group (Not all) of the disciples that they must follow him. And during that same meeting he also said that they must become "Perfect Human Beings", self realized so to say.
There is a difference between the two. This has been both a secret and a mystery over the last 2000 years

Think on this!
"Peace be with you."

Luke 1:35 gives principle to Jesus' perfection.

God is referred to as perfect in Psalm 18:32. He is complete and lacking nothing. Jesus is the divine Son of God; He is God the Son (Matt. 3:17).

Jesus commanded "Be perfect. therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" in Matt 5:48. The perfection commanded of Christians is a state of spiritual maturity or completeness.

This is as close as you get.

Someoen said matt 5:48....it says be perfect as our heavenly father is perfect.

So no, you're wrong.

And Jesus would never say He was perfect, because that would be prideful and a sin.

Jesus did say "I and my Father are one". So for Christians, either this means that they are both perfect or they are both imperfect. Can't have it both ways.

The quote is in John. I'm not really motivated to go get the exact chapter and verse for you, as I'm pretty sure it's not going to make that big of difference. If you want to know - look it up yourself.
