My original hair is a dirty blonde maybe light brown. I have been dying it since I was younger (cant remember the exact age apprx. 13? & now 17). It has become too costly for me to keep up with getting it re-done every month considering I have to pay for it myself and have other expenses. (I hate growing up!!). I decided to do it myself but have only ever redyed it, never just a root touch up. Now I am noticing that my hair looks worse and worse every time. Tonight I put low lights in it myself thinking it might be less maintenance if I have some darker color in my hair. It made my roots look 10 times worse and I have to do something with it. Any suggestions. I know I am not supposed to do my hair too much but it looks terrible. I am thinking about going to the salon tomorrow and just starting from scratch? dying it dark blonde and getting highlights. I would love a spiral perm but understand it is too much to do to my hair. Any blonde suggestions on maintenance?

I have to go to just a public place like fantastic sams or something? The woman that usually does my hair will take a while to get an appointment and my hair needs done asap.

I have known my hair dresser since i was born. I grew up with her kids and she knows that I am a person to experiment with my hair. I know she wont be hurt if someone else does it, I cannot wait around because she is booked. Sorry if you get hurt over that, but I would like to think my hair dresser wouldnt get upset over something stupid like that!

Always stick to your regular hairdresser. She knows your hair, and has put a lot of herself into it. She cares. It would hurt her if you did something bad, damaged your hair and had to cut it very short. It may look awful until you can get another appointment with her, but it's worth it. Perhaps you can talk her into staying late, or shifting some other appointments around so she can correct your problem. She doesn't want to see you miserable.

yes, low lights, even some very dark ones that match your natural hair color may be just the ticket for you, for a while. Be sure you use good conditioning products, as well.

the cheapest, least damaging solution... go to the store and buy a semipermanent color...the ones that wash out in 28 shampoos or so. go slightly darker than any color on there or closest to the color of your roots. Stay away from ash or you will have a green cast over time. The color will lift into the lighter parts and will cover all the messups from previous root touchups gone bad. this will help achieve a uniform color that will let the lighter parts with less lift look like hilights. Do this every 6-8 weeks for at least 6 months and give your hair a break. Be sure to use a color enhancing conditioner/shampoo too to extend the color times between. the semi perm does have damaging chemicals on a much smaller level so hair will be dry... condition, condition, condition.... if your hair grows fast you can decide what to do with it in 6 months or so. Then you can take some of the maintenance money you saved and pay a hairdresser to help you figure it all out. If you keep going your hair is going to dry up and eventually may even start to break off...don't ask me how I know this :) In this case less is more and if you are really bold, go dark... gives you an excuse to try on another side of your personality for a while and gives you an excuse to try things maybe you haven't tried before because you will see yourself and your possibilites in a whole new way courtesy of the grand change.... If you hate it, consider it a phase and move on. Experiement and have fun but be smart.

Hope this helps!

As for the perm...just say no, it never works out, especially on color treated and retreated hair.... you want hair he will want to run his hands thru, not hair he (and you) will want to run from...good luck!

Sometimes salon dye and box dye don't work well together. Especially if you're trying to lighten your hair.

Talk to your hairsylist about whats do able and whats not.

a million. specific, cleansing can decrease to rubble your nails yet once you improve right into a mom, that kinda comes with it. My daughter isn't sufficiently old to truly sparkling yet, yet i'm going to probable provide her some chores as she gets older to coach her accountability, yet i will possibly in no way anticipate her to do all of the cleansing. you're no longer her slave. one element she might have the skill to do is placed on gloves if she is scrubbing/doing dishes to help look after her nails and wait to do her hair till after she chefs/cleans. whilst she chefs she will cook dinner for a number of days and refrigerate/freeze a number of it so she would not ought to cook dinner every day. If her kin is wealthy, perchance they might pay for a maid. you ought to no longer ought to do each thing. 2. There are a number of issues you're able to do at living house, and for my area as a mom, having the human beings I care approximately coach that they care adequate to attempt to pamper me is sweet. it would be like my daughter making me a card from scratch for mothers day. won't be as fancy because of the fact the taking part in cards at Hallmark, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is extra specific. you're able to do extreme-high quality candle lit bubble baths, you're able to do manicures/pedicures at living house (looking on you or her skill it ought to no longer be as fancy because of the fact the designs they might do on the salon). There are rubdown chairs, which returned are not as super, yet they are extreme-high quality. If she desires to bypass to the spa, it is going to no longer be on your dime all of the time. I understand procuring it as a present for mothers day yet twelve months around? She's taking income of you. If she desires to bypass to the spa, she ought to make her very own money to pay for it. 3. so some distance as her present is going, it is thoroughly as much as you. perchance try an at living house spa and cook dinner her dinner or something. you do no longer even ought to purchase a present, you may make one and it will save money yet ought to nevertheless ascertain.
