When it comes to jobs, sometimes it doesn't matter nearly as much "what you know", but "who you know". Now what do I mean by that? Getting a job, hearing about an opening, can come more naturally, and more easily through knowing someone who knows about a job. Simply walking in cold can be a hard way to go - of course you're nervous.
Some people are simply ackward at interacting with applications and interviews. Any number of things can be behind the problems. Nervousness can be one of those problems.
Consider going to your local Workforce Development office.
Ask about having a "job coach", and how you would find out about gaining that assistance. This could be the way to go for you. Some of the work of finding the job is done by someone else, so is dealing with the employer. Some people can do just fine on the job, but they have difficulty dealing with the people or the expectations.
Check it out.

One way to get your feet wet job wise, is to go try the temp agencies (like Manpower, or what ever you have where you live), and just get any kind of job you're physically able to do, whether it's retail, factory or whatever. Don't worry about finding your 'dream job' right now. A temp job will give you experience in working, dealing with other emplyees, and will give you something to put on your job application. You can try out defferent jobs and see what kind of things you like. You might even find a job you like that will go temp-to-hire. The main thing now is to show you're a relialbe employee. It's a catch-22 - you need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience. I don't want to be negative, but most places won't hire you without some sort of work experience, but a temp place won't count that against you. Again, don't think about you dream job now/ Just try to get some work experience and the rest will follow.
ps-Ignore the haters that respond to your question. Good luck.âº

I think there is something wrong if you really DO want a job and you haven't had a job and still live at home. You may have depression that is making it IMPOSSIBLE to get enough confidence to meet the milestones that others do. We have a lot of that in our family, people missing milestones, and guess what, we're all mentally ill! Try taking some online depression screening tests and see what comes up, or maybe it is extreme social phobia? I dunno, I was so social phobic my teachers thot I was mentally retarded for a couple of years, so if you really push hard, you can sorta get better.
I think calling yourself a loser isn't helping matters. There is a problem or problems, and you need to figure out what they are and figure out how to tackle them. Maybe your mom or dad can line up an entry level job for you? Or you can try the employment agency. Start with some easy pushover job that you know you will succeed at and get some confidence. then go for the job you want.
Good luck!

See social anxiety, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 9. Practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on page 2 (learn the EFT variant for public use, too), and if you do volunteer work, you can add it to your CV, mention it at a job interview, get a reference, improve social skills, boost self esteem, and help others. Many potential employers give preference to such people.

Embrace what you have and work on your fears by overcoming them little by little.
I recommend everyone to go somewhere fresh and new to get to know themselves better. A different geographical location where you can concentrate on you.
www.stevepavlina.com is a good website for personal development. Worth checking out!
Good luck and shine!

i think the first step you have to do is minimize the time you are at home. i have the problem like you too. i am a dreamy person. by minimizing the time i am at home i can reduce daydreaming. so i think you have the problem like me. so reduce the time you are at home because it can encourage daydreaming. go out and walking in the street. although it is boring, it can make our mind more realistic.
