My cat went into the hospital for dehydration last night. Are there products out there that can help with this? Preventative. Thanks Like electrolights in dry food or something else along those lines.

Some cats just do not drink much water and these cats are more prone to urrinary infections and crystals. The treatment for these conditions is special food like CD or SD and these same food have and ingredient that makes cat more thirsty and hopefully will cause them to drink more.
Yes adding warm water to canned food or tuna will help him drink more.

You can't "prevent" dehydration. There is a reason the cat won't drink enough water--usually it is sick. I agree with the first poster--fix the underlying problem and water should be just fine. If you are trying to increase water consumption, like you should for cats with urinary problems, then feeding canned food, adding water to the food, using a water fountain (made for cats) can all help increase water intake.

Get some pedialyte and a can of tuna. Pour out the tuna water and replace it with pedialyte and give it to her in a "soup" form. She'll drink all of the pedialyte first and before she starts eating the tuna, fill the bowl again with pedialyte. This worked for my cat and pretty soon he was drinking the pedialyte straight.

Water is the best preventative for dehydration. Either your cat hasn't had access to water or there is an underlying disease causing her to become dehydrated. Cure the underlying disease and you will prevent the dehydration.
