How do you register a rifle in my home state? What does it entail?

You can purchase long guns, IE rifles and shotguns out of state and transport them back yourself. They must be encased and secured in your trunk.

You will need to contact your local police agency as to weather you need to register a long arm in your state. I'm from Michigan and we only have to register handguns here.

sure you can...this is America....not russia....I just bought a shotgun online....from Texas...you don't have to register crap...what if you bought it at a garage sale???....who are you registering it with?what if your dad dies and you get his collection? just follow the rules at cabelas and you will be fine...you aren't supposed to cross some state lines with guns so just find out how to transport it legally....like through the mail dealer to dealer....or something...

I'm not positive on this but I believe you can only buy rifles in person, in another state that boarders your state of residence. If it doesn't boarder it, I believe you have to have it sent to an FFL in your state.
