No. Forgiveness is not a one time thing, you should forgive people all the time. I know it sounds crazy, but none of us are perfect and we make mistakes all the time. But if God forgives us everyday and even forgives criminals and gives them 2nd chances, then why not us? But keep in mind that forgiving dosen't mean letting people step on you; they'll get what they deserve.

No- as the others have said Jesus said "70 times 7" This is for the same sin, for different sins but I believe it also means that with some things, there are times when a person just wronged us once but it hurt so bad that everyday we have to reforgive them- they did not do it again but we pick up the blame and the hurt again and again just by remembering what they did to us.
**Because forgiveness many times is more for us than for the person we are forgiving.**
We have to forgive them in our hearts many times before they are completely forgiven. Does that make sense to you? Comprende?

You can always forgive, but you'll never forget. And just because you forgive doesn't mean the situation has to stay the same...I wish I knew what we were forgiving here...

Peter asked Jesus, "How many times should I forgive my neighbor, seven times?" Jesus answered 70 times 7, meaning a huge number. God forgives you whenever you repent, which means when you are sorry and turn away from your sin.

I understand the Christian opinion is going to be prevalent, here, but I'm going to provide another atheist's view. Forgiveness, once it is given, is an admirable thing, and rare. However, one should consider the following: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

Jesus forgave all of us the one time. but I have to keep on re-forgiving those who hurt me over and over again. Sigh.

It is a way of life. "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us."
