Yes mezzo, this does have to do with DNA and the Book of Moron.
Mormons think that native americans originated from jerusalem. In the BOM, Nephi and his family built a boat and went to the promised land. (aka America)

Mormon defense attorneys in paternity cases rely on DNA to determine paternal relationships thru semen, blood, saliva, or recent gooey body stuff.
Mitochondria DNA is also separated for the above items, and compared to living people elsewhere in the world, but established a maternal relationship.
The mechanisms for either are different, but in nearly every case 98% reliable. Lindsay and the Maxwell institute spend an extaordinary amount of time attempting to discredit the bulk of evidence in favor of "but what if'..' scenarios.
Like attorneys, not scientists they claim to be, their time is (mis)spent trying to find elusive discrepancies that do not prove or disprove anything, but introduces a level of unwarranted "doubt", so the the faithful can continue living in their mindless vacuum because someone else has "Done their thinking for them".
Curiously, once Salt Lake acknowledges their stance on the historicity of the BoM is incorrect, Lindsay's career will dissolve in a puff of logic, and the Maxwell Institute will get another new name and be moved to the storage room.

DNA is unreliable the farther back you go. I read of a study done in Iceland, one of the most extensive DNA studies done. They took thousands of Iceland natives, that they knew were descended from two specific people from the 17h and 18th centuries, and did DNA studies and found that, after only 150 years, the DNA could not prove that these people were descended from those two ancestors, or any ancestors earlier than the 19th century. And tey knew, from records, that these people DID descend from the two first ones.
Now, it's been, what, almost 1600 years since teh close of the Book of Mormon, and 2600 years since the beginning. We don't have any DNA from those people. How in the WORLD are we supposed to connect people from THAT long ago, using data that we just don't have?? I mean, how do you know that DNA would even connect Hebrews of today with Hebrews of Biblical times?
Oh, and the reason you are so contemptuous about Jeff Lindsay is because he's right and you know it.

Why do you keep specifiying mormonism? Why not target creationists? Creationists don't believe in evolution so they can't believe in DNA.
