The theory of evolution and the many theories of creationism (you didn't specify which one) are not mutually exclusive. That stance comes from the opportunistic jack-clergy, exerting mind/wallet control.

So the answer to your question is, yes.

Why can't you simply see the story of Creation for the beautiful thing it is?

Do you think at the time the Creation story was written, people had the ability (scientific, intellectual, record-keeping) we do now? No - of course they didn't.

The Creation story is told in the language of the time - it was the only way to try to figure out how everything got here. King David didn't have carbon dating technologies, did he?

The Creation story is a beautiful legacy - a story told to build faith that we are here purposefully. It's a story - nothing more. A way to explain in the way of the understanding of the day.

In the last 2-3,000 years, evolution has happened. How did we get the brains we have now - the knowledge we have now - the ability to learn we know now. Did you know that our brains are more advanced now than ever before? Evolution has happened.

Hell - Evolution has happened in our lifetimes!!!! Think about all of the life (not just human) that has been created and has generated new DNA - it's freaking amazing.

A responsible Christian should at least consider the possibilities that evolution is true - even if it is part of the truth.

"Yes" to Question #1. "No" to Question #2.

I do believe in the flexibility of God's creation, in that the various creatures (including humans) have the ability to adapt to their environment, and pass those adaptations along to their offspring. In that sense, I can accept "microevolution" as evidence of a good design.

I don't think it is possible to completely discount the miracle of Creation, and then accept full-faced the miracle of Jesus Christ. Without a Fall from Perfection, why would there be a need for Grace?

Let me ask you a question; what did Jesus teach when he was on earth? He taught from the old testament since the new testament did not exist. Jesus was with God when God created man, hence God saying, "Let us make man in our image," and the beginning of the New testament saying, "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." Jesus is the word. That statement shows he was with God during creation and is God (God the son, Jesus) With this said it seems you may not really know of who Jesus was. You can't accept one thing he did and not accept the other thing if they are both in the Bible. It is impossible to discount one and accept the other.

Why not? Evolution is scientific fact, the Resurrection is historical fact. Both have about the same amount of evidence. What Evolutionists refuse to recognize is that Evolution is a tool, which cannot work beyond a micro level without a guiding Intelligence operating it.

Maybe your current interpretation of Genesis is incorrect. I am Chrisian, but my beliefs concerning Genesis are not the ususal. I think that what we call a creation account is really a restoration account of the earth after the last mass extinction (during the Pleistocene age).

The Bible says that modern animals were created "after their kind." From the first time I read that I wondered what does that mean. If I take it literally means that modern animals were created using the structure of previous animals as a blueprint. That is the DNA structure of prehistoric animals was modified, and used to create similar modern animals. The prehistoric animals/plants could all be subject to evolution, but God stepped in after the mass extinction and used some sort of genetic engineering to restore the animal life were necessary.

I take it that the same thing happened with man, but with some serious modifications. As well as man being created using the DNA structure of previous man-like creatures, man was given more - the image of God. That is man was given a spirit whereby he could communicate with God. Sure Neanderthals, etc existed but they did not have the spirit of God like Adam and Eve. In that sense Adam and Eve are the first true man and woman, possessing the image of God.

There's quite a theological and philosophical gap between the new and old testaments. I'm surprised that some Christians (especially in America) take the Old Testament so seriously. It's regarded as allegorical by many Christians in the UK.

So yes, you can believe in both.

It is very possible and logical to believe that Creation is advanced, molded and used by God through evolution and that this is compatible with faith in the Incarnation of God in Christ and that Jesus is bodily resurrected and that we will also be bodily resurrected.

absolutely!!! one has nothing to do with the other...Jesus Christ was the greatest miracle of all time!! Evolution, when explained properly, fits with creationism perfectly...Evolution means that terriers, bulldogs, spaniels, dachunds, collies, etc etc have evolved from some sort of canine origin....but my kittycat has nothing to do with thse "dog types" and I, as a human, am unique and did not "evolve" from any other species...creation works
