After death there is only judgment and Heaven or Hell or Purgatory until the last day. I think there are not ghosts because that gives the people a feeling that Oh well, if we didn't get it right maybe we can come back and just hang around as ghosts---I think they are evil spirits that want you to think there are ghosts. This is why when there is real spiritual activity a priest is generally called in to do the exorcism thing.

To the best of my knowledge the Catholic Church has no official position on ghosts. The doctrine of heaven and hell would seem to negate any reason for ghosts to be the souls of dead people.

However paranormal phenomena seems to exist. These phenomena may come from sources other than the souls of people in heaven, hell, or purgatory. We simply do not know.

The Church is very suspicious of people who claim to talk to ghosts.

With love in Christ.

You bet your bottom dollar. There's Catholic ghosts, Baptist ghosts, Methodist ghosts, Assembly of God ghosts, Mormon ghosts, Jehovah Witness ghosts, Atheist ghosts, Scary ghosts, Blurry ghosts, Furry ghosts, Good ghosts, Bad ghosts, Cowboy ghosts, Indian ghosts, Barbado goats, Flying ghosts, Wailing ghosts, Screaming ghosts, Tequila ghosts, Whiskey ghosts, and UHF television ghosts...But wait, there's more! Pirate ghosts, Soldier ghosts, Fish ghosts, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, Casper the Ghost, and probably the most infamous of all...Just plain darn mean ghosts!

I'm not a catholic, but I am a Christian, so I hope it's OK for me to respond... The Bible says that when you die you face God's judgement, then you go either to Heaven or Hell. Period. BTW-The Bible doesn't mention Pergatory, so I don't believe in that concept.
I believe that people have seen "ghosts", but I don't believe that they are spirits of the dead suspended in a state of limbo.
satan wants us to doubt the Bible, and will try to confuse us any way he can. he hates us and wants to keep us from the truth of eternal life through Jesus. I believe that "ghosts" are really demons, appearing to people as those who have died. Ghosts are contrary to Biblical teaching. satan would just love to plant seeds of doubt in your mind. he's the father of lies, don't buy into it.
