A few minutes ago a windows message came up (one i see often for other applications) that said that "Dr Watson's Debugger" could not function and was shut down blah blah blah (that one where you close out something that 'isn't responding' and its the error report that comes up after it). I don't have a "Dr Watson's Debugger" that I knowingly downloaded. I do have limewire, but I don't download programs off of the internet often and the last one i did was months ago so I would've noticed any bundled software by now.

I closed out the entire process in task manager, but I cannot find the program on my computer anywhere (and I'm rather advanced at computers than average although not genius). Does anyone know what this is or how I can get to it?

Oh well okay! Thanks! They shouldn't name it such a suspicious name :-P

Dr Watson is a program that has been part of Windows since version 3.0 in the late 80's. It is a debugger program which watches for errors in the PC and logs them from technical troubleshooting. It should be running on your computer.

If you saw Watson, then your computer gave some kind of a major software error (and then probably crashed). A "geek" would be able to look at the Dr Watson information and probably decode what went wrong with the PC program. For you and me, it will mean nothing.

But it is nothing to worry yourself about. It is a part of Windows and should be running.

Dr. Watson is part of the Windows operating system.
What concerns me is the reason you got the message - there is or was a problem on your computer.

You can read more about this program here:

Dr. Watson comes with Windows Vista. I know that for a fact; it might come with XP too. It is not a virus.

if it comes up in the taskmanager again, look up the name of the .exe file at processlibrary.com

(p.s. usually the files are what they are in task manager under the processes tab such as iexplorer.exe)
