The trees are about 20 years old and have been doing this sap thing for about 3 years now and getting worse as the years go by.

RE: Why is my oak tree dripping so much sap? to the best of my knowledge, I don't ever remember my oak tree dripping so much sap. my deck sidewalk and cars are a mess with sticky stuff. every 3 years or so we have a large acorn yield, could this be the reason? If this is aphid secretion what can I do to stop it

I have the same thing with a tree by my house. I do not think there is any way to change it. But I can tell you that wd-40 will help remove the sap off of the car.

It is caused by insects eating the tree and the tree is "bleeding" in hopes of getting rid of those insects. (sticking them together and maybe drowning them)
