How can I open my mail in microsoft word not wordpad?

My attachments open in wordpad I need them to open in microsoft word.

Windows determines what program to call by the file extention. If the attachment is .doc it should call Word.
But if you didn't have Word it would use Wordpad.
You need to reset those defaults.

right click and click on open with and choose the program with which u wuold like to open.
