God can forgive. You get to go to the jail if you kill, but God forgives you if you ask forgiveness.

Repenting is not all you have to do afterwards. This is severly missing the point.
If you supposedly repent, and then just go out and commit the same sin, then you have truly not repented. You are not sorry in any way. You feel instead that you have found a loophole and can keep doing what you want as long as you mouth 'I'm sorry' afterwards.
Honestly - does that seem sincere to you? Would you accept someone's apology if they acted that way towards you? Then why would G-d be different?
There is nothing refraining you from killing more people, outside of the police etc. If you decide that this is what you want to do then that is what you are going to do until society steps in and says enough.
Religion is a set of prescribed rules and traditions created by man in order to get closer to G-d. Faith is actually knowing G-d.
When one has actual faith, it is not a restraint from doing what is wrong. You actual crave to do what is right, what is G-d's will because G-d dwells inside of you. You are not hindered but rather freeded because you understand what to do. And when you do make a mistake, do something wrong, you do not repent out of fear of something bad happening. You do so out of love, complete and absolute love of G-d and with the heavy sorrow that you have wronged him.

You get reconciled with GOD only ONE way, through HIS Son Jesus Christ. Your sins, past, present and future are then forgiven, when you sin though, you put a rift between you and the LORD. HIS Grace allows for forgiveness, when you sin and fellowship is restored. It would be foolish to continue to sin willfully.
That said, every time you sin, there will be consequences, jail is societies one way of punishing a murder, GOD, though can forgive you, but not necessarily bear the consequences of your sin. HIS justice demands so.

It's more of a scare tactic to keep you from sinning in the first place, I believe. All in all, it's very flawed, and you could certainly keep doing the same thing over and over.

Those who practice their religion with sincerity develop something called a conscience. They feel bad when they know they've wronged others or even themselves.
