There have been changes to how things are done over the past 150 years or so with the major changes occurring in 1990 and 2005..
What's to hide? The Library of Congress holds a full and complete record of all rituals if anyone cares to look they can read about every ritual in depth..
There are also pretty accurate records to be found on the Internet here's a site with a nearly perfect (a few wordings are slightly off but don't change meanings and/or the ritual preformed.) record..
http://home.teleport.com/~packham/temples.htm
Were you hoping for something far more dramatic? Sorry to disappoint you..
You seem to have confused the words sacred (of great importance and reverence) with secret (kept from knowledge, only revealed to the initiated).... It's ok it's a common mistake easily remedied with education..

They still anoint with oil, as far as I know. I haven't done initatory work since '96, so if it's changed since then, I don't know about it. Just because things change doesn't mean there is something wrong with it. Sometimes it's changed to make it easier to understand, or to make the people participating more comfortable.
Oh.. you can read the whole temple endowment and other ceremonies at the library of congress website. It isn't a big secret, but it is sacred. We don't talk about it because to us it's something very private and special. I'm sure you don't understand that, so I won't go into that, but lets just say that if you knew everything that goes in in there, you wouldn't understand it. It would all seem weird to someone who doesn't have the foundation of faith, or the learning in the church that is needed to attend the temple.
Here's a site that talks about a lot of false things that are said about the temple. Take time to read it. It's pretty interesting.

did they used to anoint a person's nether regions with oil? no joke here, i read about it on an exmo site...maybe i can find it again.
i can't help but wonder, did they wash their hands after each and every anointing during the ceremony?

(i wasnt alive then) if any mormons on here have been to the temple before and after 1990, they will not admit to it...at least that's if they're GOOD mormons. lol.
