stay out of the sun, use lotion to fix the pealing and then sunless tanner to even it out. otherwise it's just gonna peal worse then it already it.

She should use an exfoliator especially for tanning, like XFOLI8s Pre-Tanning Preparation Mitt (around $30).
Moisturize and then get a fake tan professionally applied.

Probably the best solution without damaging the skin more is to go with one of those gradual-tanning lotions - they are actually pretty good and the colour is fairly even since you apply it every night for a week or so (no streaks that way).
L'Oreal makes a good one, and so does Olay.

Well I dont think Swimming is Going to hurt it. I would Just Try to Stay out of the sun as much as possible or LOAD up on Sun screen :]
