Do you think the war in Iraq is necessary? Don't you think it is truly "unhuman" to capture other people's village, other people country, destroying other people homes, their peaceful lives, kill the innocent childrens? Don't you even realize there is nothing, absolutely nothing good about war. How about a wife lost his husband, a father lost his son, a baby lost her parents?
Please do something about it. Even if we can't stop it, but at least make them hear us.

The US war has turned Iraq into a nightmare of death and destruction, with at least 100 people killed daily, hundreds of thousands made victims of “ethnic cleansing,” and millions forced to flee into exile. It is part of a brutal offensive against the international working class.
The US invaded Iraq in order to establish exclusive control over the country’s massive oil reserves and create a base to pursue its wider ambitions for domination throughout the Middle East and Central Asia. In every part of the globe—from the Middle East to Latin America to the South Pacific—the competition between the great powers for resources, cheap labor and markets is intensifying. A new scramble for Africa is underway. In Somalia, the American military machine has begun the slaughter of Africans, sending in its warplanes and special operations killing squads while fomenting a regional war.

I am divided on the war in Iraq. I am glad Saddam Hussain was deposed, and taken to trial. I did not gloat over his death. The Iraqis may have had the ability to produce to WMD. In Iraq, as in Iran, "capturing other people's villages, other people's countries, destroying other people's homes, and killing their innocent civilians" has been done in the Iran/Iraq War, as well as the invasion of Kuwait.
Do you realize that others do not see "there is nothing, absolutely nothing good about war?" They are the people currently fighting in Iraq. They fight the American occupation, they fight against Sunni/Shia muslims, and they fight for other reasons too. There is a war in Ethiopia where the same things happen, and the first thing we can do is to become aware of it in a larger context. Iraq is not the only war.

America was taken into this war on the wings of lies and deceit -- Sadaam was nothing more than a regional
"neighborhood bully", and, his government's demise was FAR more to the benefit of the Saudi's than to America !!
We were told that it was Weapons of Mass Destruction at the ready with US in the crosshairs that made it a MUST for the invasion !!
Then, on dismantling the government there -- we were told that we would be exiting on several occasions once some particular "thing" was accomplished -- and every single time that THAT was accomplished -- there was another "thing" that had to be done !! We were also told that the effort there would be no more than 70 to 80 Billion dollars !! (We are now WELL over the 800 Billion mark) And, the military and Haliburton are working fevorously to complete military and embassy complexes there that smack of MAJOR LONG TERM occupation !!!!!
There not only is no exit strategy in place -- it was never the INTENT to exit this place !!!! Look at all the other places that the U S has gone into to "liberate" people ---- we are still there !!! Korea -- Japan -- Bosnia -- Germany --- the list just goes on and on ----- We NEVER LEAVE !!! And then the American people wonder why so many in the world see us as occupiers of countries --- open your eyes and LOOK !!!
We are supposedly taking OUR form of democracy to Iraq !! And, there is major violence in the streets there on a daily basis !! How much different is this than some of the daily activity that is going on in city after city after city with the gang wars and drug activity etc ??? We can't even control our OWN streets --- and we are half way aroung the world trying to control THEIR streets ??
In a nutshell --- the war was based in lies and deceit -- carried out under false pretenses --- used to rape the American trust AND finances --- has no end goals to achieve except the continuation of prepetual war and unending occupation -- and is acheiving nothing but a manufacturing system for enemies OF the USA ---and this is but to mention the death and hardship on the very people we were told would LOVE us for our actions !!
Time to stop policing the world !! Time to defend our own borders and not the rest of the world's !! Time to get out of the military - industrial complex's pilfering of our tax dollars for "no bid contracts" and perpetual war !!
Time for Ron Paul in 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I believe it is necessary. We are there because, Mr. Clinton was afraid to do anything on a smaller scale , in that arena, during his time in office. This is Fact, so don't even think of agruing the point.
For years, bad dictators have been killing innocent people within their own countries.
No one, not even the UN stepped up to plate and attempted to stop that slaughter.
Now, driven to respond by 9/11, we as a country took some action.
You make it sound that we are the only people killing those in Iraq. It is their own people killing themselves.
Yes, we have some bad apples in our military, they were that way before the war, however.
I am routing for the Iraq people.that after 30 years of oppresion, they have a chance at freedom, Did anyone ever tell you that Freedom must be earned.
I was thrilled, when I saw them demonstrate freely, when Sadam's statue was brought down. Those people were afraid, to do that!!!
I remember when their freedom was taken away, over 30 years ago, it was ominous and scarie, that it could happen in that age.
The amount of time we are in Iraq is lengthy due to outside insurgents coming from Iran.
When Europe and Japan were being rebuilt, it took a minimum of 7 years and more, but there were no idiots to hamper the progress.
Iraq is on it's way, our troops, relate that the news media does not relate the progress, why not take your frustration out on them.
Would you defend your country if we were to be taken over? Or would you wilt because someone might lose a child, spouse etc.
I worry about this country in the hands of your generation, I do not think many of you have the guts to stand for anything.

It is a criminal invasion.
It was done against the democratic will of the UN
It violated every international treaty and accord known to man.
Bush Cheney Rumsfeld, Blair, Powell Rice & Co should be tried in The Hague and put away for life if convicted.
They are murderers kidnappers torturers terrorists and war criminals on a colossal scale...and nothing less....as bad, or worse than Pol Pot, Milosevik, Sharon, Saddam Hussein, Stalin and Hitler.

Don't lose sight of what Saddam was doing to his own people. They might not have found WMD, but they did find lots of mass graves. Most people over look or forget this. Saddam was an evil man and needed to go.
I don't believe that the Iraq war was necessary. It is easy now to look back and say: That was a bad idea. However, when it all began, most people were for it.
Don't be fooled. Do you actually think that the Iraqis had a "peaceful" life before? Always worrying if they would be drug out of their house in the middle of the night and taken to the torture chamber.
I am not saying that it is a great place to live now, but it sure wasn't a paradise before the war, either. Now, the power to change and build their country is in the Iraqi's hands. What they choose to do with that is up to them.

I could go on forever about how wrong it is, but Smedley Butler said it better than I ever could. Read the whole thing. It'll break your heart and make you mad as hell.
Read "War is a Racket," by Major General Smedley D. Butler:
http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/articles/warisaracket.htm
Excerpt:
"Out of war nations acquire additional territory, if they are victorious. They just take it. This newly acquired territory promptly is exploited by the few – the selfsame few who wrung dollars out of blood in the war. The general public shoulders the bill.
"And what is this bill?
"This bill renders a horrible accounting. Newly placed gravestones. Mangled bodies. Shattered minds. Broken hearts and homes. Economic instability. Depression and all its attendant miseries. Back-breaking taxation for generations and generations."

Truth is that the iraq war is just desperate attempt from the US to make some $$$ there. The war is just a means to an end. The US have little chance, of doing anything anywhere else in the world to make money so it won`t stop.

I have been there a few times since being in and it depends on who you ask,you will get people who are totally against the war and will say anything to make their point and others who keep it professional and say what they able to say with out causing more trouble. We where sent over there to free a people that never really liked us in the first place because they view us as infidels trying to force our way of life on them. Now you will see people say its all for oil or its to free a people. Well yes and no for both of them. No war that the US has fought was not just for help a country but as well as profit, polictical game and that makes the US the savor for a country.Bush has not been the most honest person in our presidental history,is he making money off this war as well as his administraction in some shape or form. Good chance yes, this adminstoraction is pretty corrept as it goes for be honest with the us public. Are we winning the war,not even close. Its not even a war anymore its more of a police action that we are in the middle of thats holding the country togeather. The Iraq troops that we train and work with are not to be trusted 75 percent of the time because we have found connection to insurgents are paying them for intel on training ect.The people are Iraq are getting tired of us being there and they feel that we are controlling their government and in most cases we are, their government is far from ready to take over and the best thing to do is pull out and let thi civil war that we are stuck right dab in the middle in to cool off and let god sort it out. They have been fighting against each other for a hundreds of years like this and the image is burnged into their childrens minds. We have many problems will kids throwing gernades into truck when driving down the roads or parents having their kids straped with a explosive vest and sending him to us at check points. This war will not get better it can only get worse.Have we made it better for them yes if we can get their government to work with its people and if the people respect the government. Untill then we are just another person on strings involed in another puppet government. Our government has made billions off this war selling oil and contracts to companys working in the country, its another vietnam war and its going to take sadly many more lifes and congress to get the political heads out of thei a $ $ and do their jobs for once and not worry about their image to get us out of this war.

I think that this war was necessary. If Saddam was not removed from power he would still be killing innocent people. Not to mention the fact that he was developing nuclear bombs and supporting Osma Bin Laden. Yes people may still be dieing there but the citizens of Iraq are much better off. My heart goes out to all of the families that have lost loved ones in Iraq, just remember that they are there fighting to secure the freedom of the Iraqi citizens. And all of us Americans here at home...........

I have my opinions on it and the the thoughts i have and the views i believe are just that. Mine.
My husband is about to deploy there and the last thing our children or he needs to hear is me talking bad about it.
People's views on the war are thier views and they are entitled to that. They have that RIGHT and they can say and do what they want. But what they need to remember is the military members who are there because it is thier jobs to be there because the DOD says so. And they are they are holding the tradition of the men and women before them that fought and defended the freedoms that people here throw away.
That and the families left here while thier wives. and husbands go over there. We dont need to hear how much the soldiers need to come home. Those are our loved ones and we want them here but we accept thier jobs and SUPPORT them and ask that you do too.
