There are more unfulfilled prophecies, than the other way around.

Nostradamus' predictions were very vague and could be taken thousands of different ways. I think he was a complete idiot that was out of his mind. If someone were to make the same predictions today everyone would think they are nuts. Therefore Nostradamus was friggin nuts just like the people who think a magical being created this planet. Or how about a man that split an entire see with yet more magic. I think the fictional book even mentions giants and men who lived 900 years. So your answer is NO the world isnt going to end in 2012. No more than a hippie looking guy is going to come out of the sky and save the ones who kissed his ***.

Hahaha! How would he know? The world's end has been predicted so many times in the past, and look where those prophets got us! We're still livin'. Unless the end really DID come like a thief in the night as the Bible states, LITERALLY, and only lasted a few seconds--and we're all reincarnations.

...That'd be cool...

-sighs- The end will come, bringing with it a new beginning; eternity. Personally, eternity scares me--thinking about a day that will NEVER END. The harder you think about it, the deeper your mind drags into it, the more frightening it becomes. Maybe it's just me. -shrugs-

Whatever's going to happen will happen. If the world were to end in five years, that would be pretty bad. But saying, "Oh, no! In five years, I'll still be young! I have my whole life ahead of me!" is plain ignorance.

Open your eyes--you will always have your whole life ahead of you, until you breathe your last breath. It's not anyone's fault if you chose to stop living--its your own.

Will the world end on the aforemention date? It just might. But really--you shouldn't be rushing around with your 'last days'; the end could come at any minute. Just live life, enjoy it, savor any small pleasantries life throws you on a whim and learn to follow something more than your mind.

Just resign yourself to the unexpected.

Actually the Myan Calendar also ends in 2012 which makes many people believe this is when the world will end as well. My personal opinion is that the world will not "end" but change so drastically that it is in essense an ending but a new beginning as well.

When I think of the world "ending" in 2012 I think of a worldwide spiritual, emotional, and energy change that will allow us to move on in our evolutionary path but on a drastic scale like nothing we have ever seen.

So yes the world will end in 2012 according to Nostradamus and the Mayans but it is not the end that so many think it is, it is THE beginning.

There are many predictions about the world ending but 2012 is a repeating number.

An ancient civilization's (I do not remember if it was the Aztec, Mayan, or Inca, but i think it was Mayans) had a calender similar to our calender today that ended mysteriously on December 24 of 2012.

1 day before Jesus' birthday...suspicious!!!!

Nostradamus is a fraud. The world was supposed to be destroyed at least twice in my lifetime so far according to Nostradamus. The last time was in 1999.

I guess if one keeps predicting a cataclysm to occur sooner or later you will be right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

It has nothing to do with Nosrodamus! F*cking hell, Nostrodamus has to be the most misquoted person in the history of the world...
The reason that people (weirdos) believe that armageddon occurs in 2012 is because the Mayan calendar (so they thought) ceases in that year. The truth is that the calendar doesn't end then, the Mayans simply didn't extend their calendar beyond (what would eventually be known as) 2012. Something to do with digit space or something along those lines.

Does the world end when a western calendar expires?? Of course not!

P.S. Please, oh pretty please with sugar on top, stop misquoting Nostrodamus.

No this is false. Nostradamus does not know when the world will end. Only God knows when the world will end. In the Bible it says no man knows the hour.

You have to consider that Nostradamus's predictions can be interpreted in many, many different ways, to suit the needs of those interpreting it. Much like the bible, in all honesty.

No, I do not think the world will end, at all, unless
1) The sun blows up
2) We destroy it (Nuclear holocaust)
3) We destroy it (Pollution, global warming...etc)

The only real hope is if we all die out and the world can finally heal itself.

Remember, we're the worst parasites/virus on the planet.
Really.

People have been predicting that the world is going to end for hundreds of years, and has it happened? No.

We are not meant to know when the world will 'end.'

2012? I thought it ended in 2010, I bought a long term planner a couple of years ago and after 2010 the pages are just blank.
