flying time...3 minitues but also keep in mind the peperation of the plane such as feul, filing a flight plan, getting clearences, getting a position on a runway, circling the arival aifield, landing, doing your flight report as well as getting to the plane (in a car)........why even ask the question...it could take up to 2 hours to do all of that rather than just to do a 30 minitue drive where you can get up and go!

well i would say that a 4 hour drive is the equivalent of a 45 minute - 1 hour flight when all is said and done considering getting from gate to gate. commercial airliners usually reach speeds around 500 mph range depending on the aircraft.

Car average speed on highway 70mph.
Plane average speed 510mph for most commercial airliners.
Planes are much safer also.
Driving to NYC from Miami at least 24hours.
Flying 3hours.
Planes are much faster, economical and safer.
