Someone (I won't mention who, apparently showcasing someone else's ignorance is a no-no) said the following about "Lucy"
(No I'm not making this up)

"Lucy" has been proven a farce along time ago. You didn't know that? Sad.

Can you believe it? Not only is this an outright lie (It's called Pious Fraud in religious circles and is apparently A-Ok with the creationist crowd) but intellectual cowardice of the highest level.
To that person, I would suggest you take a grade 9 biology course and find out about the Science of Evolution.
Failing that, take a look at this site;
http://www.becominghuman.org/
It's excellent and done so that people with even a rudimentary scientific education can understand it.
Please, get educated. There are enough ignorant morons in the world as it is.

Let me get this straight Vic, you're using ANSWERINGGENESIS as your "facts"?
Oh man that's funny!
The same site that claims that Dinosaurs and humans once co-existed, tries to "de-throne" actual science.
Oh man that would be funny if it wasn't so effing tragic.
You have my pity you really do.

Cristaline,
yep that was it.
As an Anthropologist myself I am constantly reminded that having an education that I can take for granted is not common.
Which is, after all, kind of a shame.

Dark angel,
Have any... PROOF?
Yeah, I did'nt think so either.
Pious fraud might be ok in the religious world, but scientists tend to take a dim view of it.

It's so frustrating that many religious people have no problem making bald-faced lies to support their argument while the rest of us - who apparently don't have any morals - won't lie at all about the science.

Hear hear.

Science is intolerant of 2 things only - plagerism and statements with no reliability or creditability.

A logical world is a better world.

I guess he doesn't know that there are a LOT more fossils from the same species like this one: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/09/060920-lucys-baby.html

And yes, I have had two others say the same thing. I still haven't gotten a source.

Pull your head out of your but. Lucy was a Chimp. This has been proving by the Smithsonian. They currently have the Body of another Chimp Called George the same as Lucy. They have Films of him walking and acting human. This is not the missing link. Find your self an other chicken to lay an egg because that roster is not going to do it.

creationists stagger the mind daily. Its their function in the world to prevent humanity from ever improving its condition. Creationists in my opinion are simply fundies by another name. Warmongers with only the very basic biological imprint of morality.
