There was a little town outside the base. However, I can not remember the name either. I believe it started with a B. I could be wrong. There were no other towns in the area.

Probably Bodo. It was a detachment site for SR-71s, and occasionally visited by P3s. It's about 2/3s up the cape and on a peninsula .
