The SAT is a college enterance exam, it is scored on a scale up to 800 per section. The are 2 sats, the SAT 1 which is compusory and the SAT 2 which are other subjects. If you feel that you're confident, you can take it at the end of year as most of SAT 1 is critial reading, sentence completion, math and essay. A person can take the SAT 1 as early as 7th grade or earlier to 12th grade or older. The right time is around 10th to 12th grade. Yes, you should worry about it as your sophmore and junior year are the material that the SAT 2 (maybe SAT 1) is going to cover. You should study 7 hours a week for 5 weeks before the SAT starts, this will provide a chance for you to study all the material. Also, try to take the PSAT to prepare.

SAT originally stood for Scholastic Achievement Test and the last name that was used for it prior to just the initials was Scholastic Assessment Test.
I know that is not what you are asking but thought I would share that info with you =).
Usually Juniors and Seniors take SAT tests as most not all colleges require it for college admission.
SAT consists of three major sections: Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200–800.
You can read up more on it following the link I provided.

Def ignore the comment that it is a measure of how smart you are... that statement is rather subjective for the test itself is sometimes considered discriminatory....but anyways getting to the jist of the question...SATs are the tests you have to take to go to college....I know UCc require the SATIIs as well. You should be taking them around ur early junior year so that you can take them more than once. The good thing about them is you can take them as many times as you want and the school only look at the highest score. They do tend to be rather pricy but u may be able to qualify for a fee waiver, just ask your counselor.

Its a standardized test that highschool students take to see how you have progressed. Colleges look at it later and it shows you your strongest areas to give you an idea of what major you might wanna take in college. Im 13 and I took it last February and its surprisingly not as hard as I thought it would be. But it was way more advanced than the ACT. I got an 18 on the ACT our of 36 ranking being genius.

It's a test used to measure what you've actually retained in high school that colleges use to judge if you should be accepted. Most sophomores will take the PSAT practice test. The Junior/Early Senior year is a good time to take it.

SAT is Standarlized Testing; is pretty much the #1 thing of which colleges look at besides grades. You should begin studying for it by buying SAT books. SAT is divided into three sections: math, reading, and writing (essay &MC)
Maximum score you can get is 2400, 800 for each section.

they probably took at PSAT for a practice run. Normally you take the SAT as a junior in HS. Just study your math and english and reading comprehension and you will do fine.
