Stereotypes that used to come to me in my younger days:
Humble, kind, thoughtful, truthful, & chartitable.
Now a days, thanks to the radical religious right's hijacking of the republican party, the words "Christian" "Conservative" and "Patriotic" I have to fight the stereotype that all Christians are radical right wing conservatives who want to turn America into a Christian theocracy.
Whenever I start getting those thoughts, or whenever Pat Robertson, Ann Coulter or their ilk open their mouth, I take a deep breath, and think of all the people that I know personally, and remind myselves that most Christians "aren't like that". My friends and family who are Christian are:
Humble, kind, thoughtful, truthful, & chartitable.
Especially my late mother-in-law, she was a bible believing, Jesus loving, born again bible teacher, I love her dearly, and miss her so much.
Would you mind sharing some stereotypes that you may have of Atheists, Pagans, Agnostics, etc. I would appreciate it. Perhaps you could add to additional details.
BTW, I am an agnostic.
Great Question !
edit to add: Thanks for your thoughful response in additional details.

I was a Christian for 75% of my life. I don't need anyone to explain how my beliefs about Christians are wrong.
I went to a Christian school from 7th grade on where we studied the Bible every single day. I went to a Christian University where I learned to read the Old Testament in Hebrew. And we studied the Bible every single day.
God is fake. That's all anyone needs to know.

not that I 'believe' all these stereotypes but they're the traits i've seen the most in christians.
1) being judgmental. Christians often seem to me to have very harsh and absolute ethical codes
2) talking too much about christianity. as a rule, people of other religions do not talk about their religion in the hopes of converting others to it nearly as much as christians do.
3)being naiive. A lot of christians seem unexposed to alternative ethical theories and cultures. Their world seems very black and white.
4) herd-like behavior. Christians tend to bunch together with other christians. when someone becomes christian, their whole friend-circle changes to include exclusively other christians.
5) right-wing politics. While I know it's not true, when i meet a christian a lot of times I take it for granted that they're likely to be right-wing fundamentalists that are highly pro-war, anti-gay, anti-science, pro corporate economy, pro-establishment...etc...
In short, a lot of the stereotypes of christians is that they're basically the exact opposite of jesus.

None.
As an Ex- Catholic and actual atheist I know very well many Christians that are my friends. Ignorance is present in religion, science, politics, etc. The problem is that fundamentalist persons (of any kind) with BIG mouths are making a lot of noise.

"...I relate extra with the agnostic and atheist notion." I comprehend what you supposed, however you must realize: there are not any ideals in atheism. It's a *lack* of notion in different men and women's claims that gods exist, no longer a collection of ideals. "Are your households supportive?" Some are, a few don't seem to be. The ones that don't seem to be are generally men and women I would not wish to spend time round besides, they are generally judgmental and hypocritical idiots. So I rather do not care. "What recommendation might you provide...?" Be sincere, be your self, and do not provide in to household or peer stress to "conform." The men and women on the earth who've performed the finest matters are people who did not care what society desired them to do to "pass together with the gang," they are those who boldly went their possess approach. Good success.

John 15:19 If you were part of the world the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

I don't prejudge anyone... I have many christian friends, but sadly, few atheist friends. I'd like to have more, but my christian friends persist in their delusion. But, oh well!
