I give my dog table food sometimes. Is that bad? Should i just stick to regular dog food? Does anyone know things a dog should definitely NOT eat?

Onions, grapes, raisins, avocado.Chocolate, very fatty foods, poultry bones or sharp bones of any kind. Also avoid really spicy foods, and dairy, but only if it gives your dog diarrhea.Otherwise,it's OK to give a bit of milk, yogurt ,cheese, etc.now and then.Table scraps are fine in moderation, and actually can be beneficial,as they can add nutrients that are lacking in commercial dog food.Good scraps (and this is straight from my vet's mouth) are lean meats, fish and poultry. Also, pasta, bread and cereal.Cooked eggs, dairy (if the dog can tolerate it) veggies, fruits (but no pits or seeds),cheese, soups,(but not rich, cream -based ones). The scraps should not make up more than 15 percent of your dog's diet. And for everyone who tells you that scraps are bad, what do you think people fed their dogs before dog food was invented? Scraps! My Grandmother fed her cats and dogs on bread and milk and other scraps, and whatever the cats could catch, and her animals lived to be very old,and were healthy, with nice coats.I remember feeding bread and milk to pups when I was a kid,and they turned out fine.People worry too much about what their dogs eat these days. And,you know your table scraps didn't come from China!

Just wanted to add that someone mentioned sugar free gum.The ingredient is Xylitol.Look for it in gum, mints, etc.Keep these away from your dog,as only a small amount can be deadly.Macadamia nuts are bad, too.

Table food? Well, chicken is okay, so are veggies... just make sure there are NO BONES and NO SAUCES.
She'll get fat too quickly. Stay away from things like potatoes and beans. No Kraft Dinner type stuff. Oh... and NO CHOCOLATE... unless of course it's carob. That kind of chocolate dogs CAN have. They make cookies out of it.
Stick to a dry food that has decent levels of protein and carbs... not supermarket brands. Try Merrick, Innova/Evo, California Natural, Canidae. No fillers and increases life expectancy. Stay away from canned food. Her teeth will get heavy tartar too quickly and you'll wonder why... it's the wet food.

The ASPCA has a poison control center, which has a website. On it, there's a long list of stuff that's hazardous to dogs. You should have a look to see if any of those things are in your house. But more common things are chocolate, grapes, and certain sugar free chewing gum. Lots of people feed their dog a piece of human food sometimes. In small quantities, it's okay, but it's not exactly the best thing for them. Just like candy and soda isn't the best thing for humans.

You should never feed her onions or tomatoes because this could eat at the lining in her stomach. Raisins and grapes can also cause renal failure in dogs. I spoil my babies and they prefer table food. My mom goes to a feed and corral store for her dog food but it is very expensive! But you could get some useful information from a store like that.

Table food isn't too bad for dogs, as long as it isn't every single meal, and as long as it isn't something with a lot of fat. I know that grapes and raisins are very bad for dogs.

Chocolate. very bad for a dog. It will kill it.
Also chiken and turkey bones. The insides of the bones are different than ribs and stuff.
