To answer you question, being a flag ranked officer in any of the services would most likely be very nice to have. As for the pay, a flag ranked officer make pretty good pay: The lowest pay is 7k a month, and the max is 14k a month. (15k if you are a Joint Chief or CNO).

Benefits: free medical, free dental, Free housing, and probably a car and driver and cook.

Unfortunately, you'll need to join the military as an Officer and work your way up. Best of Luck!

Is this your fantasy job in a fantasy world? Or did you meant to say you are thinking about becoming an Army Officer by going through the Academy, ROTC, or Officer Candidate School after getting a 4 year degree, and then working your way through the ranks over at least a 15 to 20 year period. It's a great job if you love the Army and your country and the lifestyle of an Army officer. As far as pay and benefits, it's a perfectly good job that pays in six figures once you make it to that level. The real question is whether you are even Soldier material, much less officer material, and if you have what it takes to accomplish that feat. Good luck with that. www.goarmy.com

The pay is good. It's a good job if you like the military. It can be dangerous.

You know, of course, that you don't just decide to become a general - you start out at a low rank, then if you get promoted enough times you can reach that level. You have to earn the promotions, and beat out the other people who want the promotions too.

How old are you? Being a high ranked military officer is not a job you just "apply" for.... and if you are concerned with the money, you probably would not be a good candidate anyways.

You will have to sacrifice your life to serve.
You will have to be an excellent politician and soldier.
You don't know a thing until you have at least served in the Army,.
