Start saving money and collecting ideas, but DO NOT start buying things or reserving vendors until you have a ring on your finger, a date in mind, and a budget set. My dear friend made this mistake and lost a lot of money!

It's too early to start on the actual planning, the reservations and things like that. You should wait until you have the engagement ring. In the meantime, start looking at magazines and websites. Get a feel for what you like and what you don't like. Scout out potential locations in your area.

Most importantly, start saving NOW! It's never too early to start saving for the wedding. Even if your parents are going to pay for the wedding, save anyway. You'll want extra money for honeymoon goodies, bridesmaid gifts, etc.

I think that it is too early to plan the wedding. I would start getting ideas of color schemes and little things like that but wait until about a year to a year and a half to start booking things.

Of course it's too early. Only start a year before the wedding - but don't start planning til you are engaged and have a firm date. Don't be engaged longer than a year!

Its too early to even thing you're actually going to get married. What is up with that. It seems like you guys are not ready to commit and just like dreaming with no serious plans.

to start SERIOUSLY planning, maybe. your tastes may change between now and then. the reception place and ceremony location should be booked as early as possible. next do photo, music, and limos..since these will probably not change. wait on your gown, flowers, etc bc that may be different in time. go to theknot.com for a checklist on things to do month by month. good luck!

Wait till your engaged! Your gonna freak your man out if you do it sooner! (He may also wait more to propose, to suprise you!) After that, plan away, the sooner the better.

By the way, there's nothing wrong with a little day dream, or thinking about it....Good Luck! :)

It is never too early to plan a wedding. The sooner you start, the less stressful it will be.
