Ohm measurement - checks the resistance of that component. That is the most likely. Two other possibilities that are more specialized could be checking the capacitance or inductance of a component.

You would have to be checking for voltage across the component. You cannot check amperage in parallel and you cannot check resistance while it is in the circuit.

it is deenergized, so it's continuity, resistance or short
