The age for a person to legally drink in the province of Ontario is 19!!! I know from personal experience that it does not matter what country you are from! If you are American or whatever as long as you are 19 you can drink!
cheers

The drinking age is 19 in Ontario, however the rumors you have heard are rampant. There are some bars that do not allow in anyone under 21, but that will usulaly only be in the border cities. Most other places will allow anyone in, regardless of nationality as long as they are 19. Keep in mind, it is not a law that American's can't drink until they are 21, it is usually the result of problems those specific bars have had in the past.

Those rumors are going around. NO Canadian province has any proposed regulations to have such a double standard. That would have a discrimination tone to it and cut into revenues. It wouldn't be easy. What you can't do is come to Canada, get drunk and return home that night. Then you are an intoxicated minor in the US and can be charged by your own kind. If you drink in Canada, you are best to at minimum stay that night.
Drinking age in Ontario is 19 as it is in all Provinces except Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta where it is 18.

In Ontario, I believe it's still 19. Last I checked it was 18 in Manitoba and Quebec. Anyway, nobody's gonna care about your nationality when you go to buy a drink.

I have heard that rumor going around where I go to school. However, I have asked one of my friends who went to Canada over spring break if she got served alcohol, and she said yes. Plus, another one of my friends said she got served alcohol there this weekend. Therefore, I do not think those rumors are true.
