Unlike Muslims, Jews or Satanists, Christians seem to be the only religion that knock on doors or drop pamphlets on transit vechicles to recruit new members.

You just don't pay very much attention... I can remember a time that one couldn't go *ANYWHERE* without tripping over a HariKrishnia...

.....well, I dont know to much about the Muslim religion, however I do know a bit about Christianity. I dont think that a Christian would go on an insane crime spree in the name of Jesus Christ. I think the reason that religious organizations recruit people in prisons is because in prison there are people who are looking to good, and a lot have lost hope and are looking for something to give them strength. Ever heard of a "Born Again Christian"? Its basically a criminal who found god and is looking to live a better life.

Because we believe that what we believe is right, and we just want to tell you. Most of us realize that you have a right to choose your own beliefs, but we just want to make sure your informed. Most of the ones dropping pamphlets and stuff aren't really considered Christian at all. They are the mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses.

Not Catholics, who are the majority. You're thinking of fundamentalists. Renegade elements, with really extreme views. They need to recruit because their debased version of what they call Christianity is not Christianity and is therefore without real energy; it cannot attract. Therefore they must hard-sell,like a door-to-door salesman. Or a cult. Which they are, really. Don't go judging Christianity by a loonie fringe. 75% of all Christians are Catholics.

Hello Grendel,

As indicated on the first posts they were asked to go forth in the world and spread the good news to all men (mind you not by the sword). That is documented in the bible.

Bahai's also try to bring new people into their Faith, but they are not as aggressive as the others and they are smaller in number, so the odds of running into them is smaller. It's an interesting religion, and if you are seriously looking around, you should look them up.

Jesus told them to do that in the gospels. Some even go as far as to believe, that after they've done their missionary work to every living person on the earth, Christ will come back.

Jesus told us to.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Because they are a bunch of hypocrits who think that by spreading it, they will go to heaven when they need to quit being hypocrites and just practice what they teach.
