And don't give me the "free will" nonsense. If god exists and if he/it is all-powerful, then it follows that everything is according to his will and nothing can be otherwise. Therefore, there is no such thing as free will.

God is unable to stop you from becoming an atheist because He does not control your mind. Free will can exist, because the story goes that He created us in His image and likeness, which means that we cannot be controlled by someone, or something else. If God is love, then he cannot be obtained forcibly, regardless of the power that he possesses. The ability to limit Himself does not mean that He is not all-powerful. To the contrary, it is yet another way that he shows he is great. The greatest individuals/beings are the ones who are able to restrain themselves at the appropriate time. With that said, I hope that you will agree that His allowing free will is, at least, remotely possible.

God cannot stop you from becoming an atheist, but, the fact that you are able to imagine that He exists means that you are not entirely without some level of belief, because we can only imagine that which is possible. It may be incredibly unlikely, but if we can imagine it, it is possible.

You should consider, too, that perhaps it is His will for you to choose what you believe. Maybe God likes the challenge of trying to prove His existence to people, through his creation.

If you are assuming that everything is according to God's will, would that not mean that he made you the way that you are? Why would God want to stop you from being an atheist, if God made you that way? Remember, if there is no free will then you have no choice but to be an atheist, it was not your choice because you are not free to make that choice. This is of course, assuming that the premises you put forth in this question are true.

Actually you did answer your own question.
There is no arguement about it.

You always have "freewill" to choose to walk with God or not. There is not judgement in that statement, its just the plain truth. Created in the likeness of God, you have the choice to be apart or be a part. I have the belief that both are okay.

A good person, may never "know" God the way I do, and that's okay as well. I believe that we all are here for a reason and we are all blessings. So I hope that "clears up' that nonsense for you.

first of all, the fact that you are so worried about what god thinks is enough for me to say that even though you say you dont believe in god, you most likely do... even if you dont call it god.
second of all, have you ever seen a thunderstorm? have you ever seen a clear sky turn into dark clouds and rain? have you ever seen an empty patch of dirt turn into grass, and then into a plant? if you have never seen these things then i would understand why you dont believe in god, but i am sure that you have, and that is why i dont understand... because the fact that god exists is truly obvious in our every day lives.... a wise man once said, god doesnt exist, but god is existence.

and to the question, god will not force you to believe in him because he wants you to make up your mind, yes freewill.....he will not force you to believe in something you dont want to believe in. if all that believe are to go to heaven; why would god want somebody that only believes because they were forced to believe in heaven? i dont think he would... i assume that god only wants the people that want to believe in heaven.. if you dont believe, the truth about it is that it is your loss, and god is willing to accept that, though it is sad, the only way you are going to know, is if you find out for yourself.

lets also talk about the fact that if god did decide to "force" you to believe, it wouldnt be by coming into your brain and making you a diferent person (though it is possible) he would still give you the option and it would be by providing signs for you to see. god may cause something to happen to you or somebody else in your life that should have ended diferently then it did; such as cancer, or a tumor, or something similar that believers might consider miraculous. and then god would only hope that you realize.

god certainly does exist, but he technically is not a he, for he is god, and god is everything. it is actually because of god that you are alive, and if god did not exist, neither would you.
god is the force, the chi, the everything, and i gaurentee you that the only reason you claim to not believe, is because you dont understand, for if you could truly see (or gain a new perspective), you would believe.

According to Christian's, god gave you free will to choose, but if you choose wrong, when you die he/she/it plunges you into the hellfires for all eternity. Sounds a little coercive if you ask me.

I see the "free will" of Christianity like the free will you have when you drive your car. Sure, you can run stop signs your whole life and never get caught, but if you wipe out one pedestrain, you're gonna pay the rest of your life, so in reality your "free will" is just the freedom to make an insane choice.

If god truly wanted us to have free will, it would be like the doors on Let's Make a Deal. You don't know what's behind them. That is TRUE free will.

God is not limited with anything, and He is able to all and above all that we could ever ask or imagine the Scriptures say. He is able to do anything, and everything, at any time that He chooses to do it. Don't be thinkin you're more than you are, the Scriptures also say!
I've walked with God now for 25 years, and I remember asking the same question years ago, taking a walk with a old man who had loved God his whole life. I asked him the same question and he laughed. He said "sister God is God and He can do whatever He wants to do. If we could figure Him out now He wouldn't be God then would He?" Well I went around and around for a long time searching this and that out, and finally came to the same conclusion, God is God and He can do whatever He wants.
He does exist, and I guess it all comes down to having a personal relationship with Him. He literally pulled me out of the pit, deep in drugs, I asked for help, and it was as if he threw me a lifeline and pulled me out and put a new song in my mouth. He is alive and well, don't kid yourself.
I once took a client of mine who was Jewish to ask my Pastor questions that she had, they had a great visit. This would be a good idea. This is a tough question, but it doesn't prove that there is not a God. It proves that God is God and He can do whatever He wants to do.

It's the PEOPLE who talk, write, shout, sing as if they are God, who force ; they are the one who say we should this and that. My God give me complete free will.

That is why, I ....READ! and I ask ..... myself.
I read books , called Holy books, but I also "read nature "and "listen" to nature.
I listen to the different voices of birds, I think when I see the different shape of plants and smells of flowers (which i always have lots in my garden), I cried when I realized that sugar ants so little but are lively.
I cried when I saw my picture when I was little; I said ....that's me , I cant be like the same like that anymore. Its past.

I realize there are things I cant control....I cant stop the sun and the moon, I cant control the death time of my husband.

I am not confusing myself by reading&hearing what other PEOPLE SAY or what they "create", and say god this and that.
I think and listen to the nature when I seek for the truth,...... MYSELF.

I dont let others to force me to believe what they believe.
The God I find seems letting me to dicide things on myown, but I have conduct how to behave in this world, also which I can choose.

Dont worry ...(I say), If you want to be atheist, so be it. Real God( I say), lose or gain nothing from us.

Why are you so curious about God?
It's because you don't know why you're an aethiest.

You're an aethiest because you want to be.
If you get out of your head for once,
the thoughts that SATAN puts into you,
saying there is NO GOD,
maybe you'll understand.

ONce you accept Jesus,
God will reveal himself to you.
He will reveal His Love to you.

God is real.
Why else would there be ANY believers?

God has made me change in life,
has answered my prayers.
Where else would that come from?
God exists in my Life,
because I go to Him,

Tell me,
are you free without Him?

Because I wasn't.
I was a Slave to SIN.

Jesus made me FrEEE.
Thank You!

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the father except through me."
-John 14:6

God Bless.

Love means free will. If I said to you you have to love me or you will be condemned to hell then that is not love or free will. The eternal hell thing is made up by man not God. Though their is a hell, but no one goes eternally. According to the ancient Vedas which where given at the time of creation by God to help the fallen conditioned souls understand how to utilize this world for their ultimate good and how to Get out of it when they have had enough (like a computer how too book) God, also known as Krisha, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc., says the eternal spiritual Kingdom is for those who want to serve Me and for those who want to try to be Me then they can go to the created temporary world called Maya(Illusion) everyone has eternity to give up trying to lord it over this material nature and when they do He gives them the understanding How to come Home. God will only convince you if you want to be convinced. He is the fulfill of all desires good and evil. He can do what He wants and he is so kind. Like a father who loves his child, and tells them the consequences if they do something that may hurt them, but ultimately lets them do what they will. One must understand karma, reincarnation, and no one goes to hell eternally to understand the unlimited mercy and love of God. For info go to harekrishnatemple.com on this topic. Hope you find what you are looking for. I have, and am completely satisfied.

God lets us make up our own decisions. If you didnt have free will you would be a puppet of Gods. God doesnt answer prayers of the wicked or unbelievers...He gives them up to their depraved minds. He lets you go on as you want while helping the ones who love Him using all things for good for those who love Him, even when one of His is raped or hurt by wicked people, he makes a way for healing and sends comfort and hope. We use these experiences to comfort others and to refine us. Trials are not made to make us bitter but wiser and full of patience because our hope is for things that are eternal, not temporary. Even when His children die, they are brought to His kingdom. But the unbelievers he turns away from them.
All people search for God in one way or another. And he gives us a good message through other people who are happy to tell you the good news of Jesus. The message to you is that you will find Him if you search for Him with you heart. And that you may come to Him and find that peace youve been searching for.
