I'm taking 3 days --August 31st (my birthday) from Dallas and coming back Sept. 3rd (Labor Day)...I'm kind of limited on time so I was wondering where would be some good place to visit while I'm there. Also, I wanted to stick to a budget of $500 and that's including gas, hotels, food, site-seeing. I've never been to san Antonio before so if anyone knows any good tourist spots out there, whether it be on the way from Dallas to SA...Let me know

Oh and since it is my 21st birthday (yes, I know I'm young) I wanted to stop by Austin's 6th st. and take a tour of the capital

The Alamo is free and it's in the middle of downtown. The Riverwalk is free to stroll along, tho food can be pricey. El Mercado (The Market) is a nice place to shop and it's walking distance to the Riverwalk.
For food and a good price, go to "Good Time Charlie's". It's at the corner of Broadway and Mulberry (short taxi ride). It's decent food at a decent price. The staff are friendly. Nothing fancy. BBQ places abound and the best are usually a small Mom & Pop places. Mexican food is outstanding. You know the food will be good if you can order lemonade instead of ice tea.
Skip Seaworld and Fiesta Texas as you've seen one-you've seen them all.
Lackland AFB has a HUGE display of aircraft from pre-WW2 to present.
Endless number of parks for picnics or naps.
The Brackenridge Zoo is an outstanding zoo. It isn't huge, but it is well stocked. And inexpensive.
The Witte Museum is excellent. The SA Gardens are close to the Witte.
You can't do everything here in San Antonio in three weeks. So be sure to come back.

Sounds like fun! In San Antonio, of course go to the River Walk, especially at night it is beautiful, eat Mexican food and let the Mariachi bands play for you. Go to Sea World, that's lots of fun. Remember the ALAMO!

By Austin, you should go to Barton Springs--so cold and refreshing, great place in late summer. You already know about 6th street, that is a lot of fun. Drive up in the Balcones and look at the views.

Happy Birthday!

I am giving you some San Antonio tourism sites so you can see what interests you about the town and also see where you can stay for whatever the different prices are.

Well I live in San Antonio and have all my life--there isn't much to do here fun-wise except for the Riverwalk, but that is fun. Lots of clubs, restaurants to go to there and they're all awesome!

If you want to party Mad Dog's on the Riverwalk is a really cool club to go to at night--lots of Marines hang out there. Take Care.
