Its often been said that we really know of only one man who in history who is saved for sure. That is, of course, the thief who was crucified alongside Jesus. Jesus said to him "today you and I will be together in paradise". No where else is the Bible that clear about the fate of any particular human soul. Although I think there was at least one person in the Old Testament who was raised up into heaven.

But what about Hell? Does the Bible tell us of any particular people who are in Hell, or who were at least bound for Hell?

I am not talking about various passages that say what KIND of people will go to Hell. Rather I am asking is if there is are any individual persons who we know are in Hell?

No matter what a person is done, salvation is always a possibility for them. So there is no one in history that we can look at and know for sure where they are in the afterlife.

Probably the people that was in Sodom and Gomorrah when God destroyed it. But, the Bible says we can't say who goes up or who goes down, because that judgement is reserved for Jesus.

The Bible says anyone who rejects Jesus as their Lord and Savior is bound for Hell.

Look at Jezebel and Ahab. Do you think that they trusted in God just before they died. True, one can say, "Well, we don't know what they thought just before they died." However, we do know how they died and we know why they died. The odds are that they died in their sin.

Absalom would be another that we can pretty safely say died in their sin. He was guilty of rebellion and sedition. He was running for his life when he died. Odds are that he is in Hell.

Ananias & Sapphira sinned against the Holy Spirit with their lies. It is entirely possible that, although members of a certain congregation, they were never saved and, therefore, were condemned to Hell.

In more modern times, look at Saddam Hussein. He believed in a false god. He rejected the notion that Jesus is Lord and Savior. Without acknowledging that one simple Truth, there was no hope for his soul.

Hitler is the most obvious modern example. Not only because of his horrendous evil but, in the end, he took the coward's way out through suicide.

How can you spend your time wondering about these questions when you are never going to find out, well not here anyway. You should be spending your time helping others. Let god take care of god's business. I f you wanted to you could speculate hell away all together and then everything would be rosy in the kingdom. Perhaps god is going to have the last laugh by leaving Lucifer alone in hell forever with no one there except him, now that would be justice.

How about Judas?
Never mind that if he HADN'T betrayed
Jesus, then Jesus would have been hard
pressed to get crucified and save us all from
Hell! (What if the Pharisees, ect. stopped getting angry
Jesus' preaching, and started making fun of His increasingly
frantic efforts to get executed? That would have been
a scene fit for a Monty Python movie...)

If you doubt the Holy Spirit, you go to hell. (for even one second) No redemption. Even at the Rapture. (Mark and Luke).

I'd say a lot of people are there then, considering people live with doubt every day.

In the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church - the one without the schisms, homosexual pedophiles, and gaudy Rolex watches - *everybody* goes to Heaven without exception or delay. Those who embraced God forever luxuriate in the infinite radiance of His inconceivable love. Those who denied God burn in it.

Everything else is footnotes and Accounts Receivable.

No, we can make assumptions but those are foolish as we do not have the infinite wisdom that God has, when he makes his judgment. That being said I have my opinions on who is in hell, however that is purely speculation and it is not something we should dwell on.
