1st. I will downsize my line to "Berkley Fireline 4/10 , Smoke", put on a Berkley Red Shad,(Motor Oil or pumpkin in "gin-clear" water), Worm "weight-less" with an Owner or Gamakatzu offset hook.

2nd. A simple black "weedless" 1/8-1/4 OZ jig with a Berkley Leech grub-body or plastic swirl-tail Berkley Grub.

If those two things are getting "snubbed" I'm in trouble! (lol)

1-Pumpkin Seed Yum trick worm wacky rigged, fished on 8# Sunline Shooter flourocarbon line, on a Shimano Stradic 2500, attached to a G.Loomis GLX 6'-10" Medium Power rod.

2- a 3/8 - 1/2 oz Blk/Blue jig with either a sapphire blue paca craw or chunk. on 14# line attached to a Team Daiwa Reel on a Powell 7' MH Rod.

3-If those don't work I go with 1/4 or 3/8 oz weight and Texas rig a Berkley 10 power worm Black blue fleck on 14# line attached to a Team Daiwa Reel on a 7' H & H MH rod.

Where I am the fish have all move to the breaks on the river channels so they are DEEP 18 -30 ft.

My best, all time favorite go to confidence bait is a spinnerbait. It could be a 3/8 oz skirted spinner with diamond blades or it could be a 1/4 oz beetle spin.
I prefer chartreuse skirt/body.
I'll fish the 3/8 oz on line up to 14 or even 17lb mono. I would use the beetle spin on 8lb mono on a spinning rig.

The $1.19 plastic minnows you buy at Walmart on 6 lb test. I'm not sure of the brand, but it kinda has trout coloring, and a spinner. Super cheap, and the bass are aggressive with them!
