I just started a new diet. Its pretty much fruits, veggies, lean meats, yogurt, and some granola and rice cakes. Just basic healthy food. I eat about 1200-1400 cals a day. I also started having like 3 bowel movements a day...is that too much? Why did it change like this? I used to have like one a day or one every other day.

If you're eating more friuts and vegetables and other sources of fiber than you normally eat then yes. Your body is stil adjusting to the new dieat but it should regulate itself in due time. Then again maybe not...it could be the new "normal" for you. Every body is different.

It changed because you are getting more fiber (which is great for the body). Most of the foods you described have fiber in them, which helps to regulate the digestive system. There isn't an "average" number of movements, it varies. I noticed a similar change when I started eating healthier foods.

3 a day is great! You NEED to have BM. If you think of it like this, the actual nutrients in food is all you need out of them, Vit a, b, etc. Everything else should come back out! SO, just once a day while okay, isn't as healthy as 3x. And everyother day is not healthy at all. What do you think all that food is doing in there. Yeah, gross. Good luck sweetie!

It's normal with a high bulk diet like this. It won't harm you at all, and it sounds like a healthy diet. It's actually better for you as all of that waste is not sitting in your body for a long time.

Yes it's normal and healthy judging by the food you are eating.
Don't worry.
