I notice when I drive, if I see a bird coming towards me I tend to always want to duck down and even catch myself doing it.
I do this while logically knowing that the bird most likely isnt going to fly through the windshield and attack me.
Do you have expereinces where your perception defies logic..and what is your reaction when you catch yourself in this mode of action/thinking?
What this has to do with RS is up for you to decide.

Well, your example is one where the part of your brain that reacts impulsively works slower than the part of your brain that makes executive decisions.

In a similar example, I can't suppress a small feeling of vertigo when I approach a ledge; in an iMax movie.

I think this is a reflex you are talking about. Happens a lot. Try to sneeze eyes open.
