i have a 1985 cutlass and i wanted to put a 383 stroker motor in it and i wanted to know about how much i would be spending if i wanted to hav the motor built at the machine shop

Always have more $$ than it costs. Things are found broken and unserviceable half way through a project.

Low end $550. High end $1,000.

A custom built motor could easily run more than 5 thousand bucks depending on what options you want. See a GM dealer about buying a reman crate engine.
