Its usually not healthy to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week. Losing weight is very easy... if your disciplined. First and foremost start drinking alot of water. Being hydrated will boost your metabolism. Next you must start running, start with maybe a mile for the first two weeks and increase the distance once you start getting into better shape. Breakfast should consist of cereal and fruit. Limit the eggs and omelettes you eat. Orange juice is good for you, however it has over 100 calories per cup so only drink a cup of oj a day. Lunch should be a lean sandwhich such as turkey; avoid mayo and other spreadds that are high in fat. Don't eat chips you need to replace all junk food with fruits and vegetables. Dinner should have alot of veggies, but you should throw small portions of meat in a few times per week. Snacks need to be fruit or vegetables. Don't starve yourself or eat no fat whatsoever, your body will need a little bit of fat. Remember that drinking water boosts your metabolism and lowers your hunger. Good luck

You can lose weight, but please be very careful about how you do it. Healthy weight loss never begins with a rush order to do so. I would emphasize that being thin, and being *healthy,* are not always the same thing. If you need to lose weight in a healthy way and don't see it happening by your imposed deadline, I promise you the world will not stop spinning. I know it can be heartbreaking to think you might miss out on an opportunity or an impression, but there will always be another opportunity to try for the police force, and there will always be new people in your life who will appreciate you for who you are. 166 lbs. at 5'7 is really, truly, okay! Please see your physician about healthy weight loss for your body type and size.
All that said, you may want to join a gym, or see a licensed personal trainer and dietician. These are professionals who know the body and how it works.
Working out, eating more protein and less fat, going moderate (but not drastically so) with carbs, and cutting out **refined** sugar altogether (not fruits and such...) will help. Eating 5 small, healthy meals a day will help keep you fueled better, and you will be less likely to starve or binge.
Everybody always wants a quick fix for weight. Yet we all know what really works...exercise and healthy diet. Pills, propaganda, and junk science can part you from your hard earned money to find out they just don't work, or if they do, it's at a price that costs you more than money. Your health is all you have in life. If that goes wrong, everything else stops. So if you have the choice between putting yourself through torture and self-image issues just to meet someone's deadline and someone else's idea of what you "should" weigh, or being a happy, healthy person, I'd choose happiness and health. You can still work TOWARDS losing as much weight the healthy way as you can by August 27th. But it sounds a bit scary, and unhealthy, to push to a non-medically shaped weight number without any consultation with your doctor or a dietician.
I wish you every success on your quest for a healthy body...whether that includes meeting this goal, or perhaps setting one that is a bit gentler on your body, mind, and spirit.

According to the Body Mass Index (BMI), you are just SLIGHTLY overweight...
Anything in the 18.5 to 25 range is "normal" - and your score is currently 25.99643524
The 15-20 you want to lose would put you right into the middle, with 20 lbs netting you a score of 22.86433474
The best way to lose weight it to carefully monitor your diet, and working out (mainly focusing on cardio, with some weight training thrown into the mix).
Might I offer an alternative - just losing weight is one thing, but have you given any consideration to packing on a bit of extra muscle instead?
Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks to weight training is that muscle weighs MORE than fat - so too much lifting can actually result in you GAINING weight over the long term. That's why Pro Athletes tend to be far heavier than someone their height...
For example - Wrestler Chris Jericho is 6'0, and weighs 231lbs ;););)

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurities come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://diet4cleansing.com

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

Oh my god. Now Hollywood even wants the males to become anorexic. Your weight it fine the way it is, don't listen to everything that Brittany or Paris tell you. I'm 5'10 and 175 and that is good.
