I think a lot of people are just conditioned to take tylenol or aspirin when in pain. Tylenol as been available OTC longer than ibuprofen. But ibuprofen does work best on some pain. And the advantage of ibuprofen, as one other person wrote, is that it helps control inflammation, as well as pain. I keep a bottle of the stuff in my medicine cabinet, first aid kit, boat kit, car kit, etc.

I agree with you and I've found that Advil Liqui-gels (a form of Ibuprofen) are great!!! They really are fast acting and so much better than anything else I've used.

I think part of the reason people don't know about it is because they probably grew up using tylenol, like children's tylenol or with regular aspirin. Tylenol never worked for me though, so I've always used ibuprofen.

Because the makers of that acetaminophen product have people brain washed! Ibuprofen (the entire class of those drugs) do one thing that acetaminophen doesn't it reduces inflammation. I think that's the reason its better at reducing pain. But people have to be careful cause it does upset some stomach's --- I use antacids when I take it
