Philippians 4:6: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing
Pray always, for everything you want, need, have, see in need...pray all day. This just means to keep him in your heart always, and pray for what you need no matter how small if you know he can provide it. Do not forget the thanksgiving though! Praise him in your prayers also!

Well prayer is communication with God, not laying down a wish list and saying 'now wave your magic wand.' We have I pray for something and then pray for conformation either way. Just know that alot of times we don't take the time to let God talk to us, thus taking out a key part of communication, listening.

The main thing when you're praying "for something" is to take time to listen to God. Sometimes he's not going to give you something, no matter how much you ask for it, because he knows that it would be bad for you. (e.g. If your two-year-old asked for the butcher knife, you wouldn't give it to him because you knew he would cut himself.)
The Bible says to pray continually. I don't think this means that at every second of every day you must be in pray. I believe it means that all times we should have an attitude of prayer and be sensitive to God's voice.

Continual prayer is keeping that constant reflection or reverence towards God in the areas of greatest need. To do it towards a want that is not in-line with what God knows you need could be a not so good thing. God may just wait until you come around to His way of thinking.
I know all things good come from the Lord and nothing can be taken away from me that God has not ordained. If I keep a healthy mind and soft heart and put my trust in Him, He will defend me and bring me through it. As I praise His name in the worst of times I prove my Love and stewardship to Him. To praise God only in the best of times is a weak faith.

Whenever you feel it in your heart to. Some people can pray for something once and let it go. Others need to pray for something over and over. I think both ways are acceptable to God. He's just pleased that you are praying to Him.

Prayer does mean "to ask" but is not limited to our petitions. GOD already knows what you need before we ask. Prayer should be a meditation upon things HOLY . .. often i will think about a person and ask in my heart for the forgiveness of their sins and blessings for them. I will contemplate the Bible or mysteries of GOD . .. and i get answers in my heart . .. JESUS speaks to my heart . .. i encourage you to pray the rosary often . .. as a song of LOVE to GOD and to OUR MOTHER MARY . ..

I've decided to let God give me what he wants me to have when he wants me to have it.
So, my answer is 0% of my time is spent begging God for what I want.
