Holyfield would just wear him down eventually.

Holyfield was initially a lightheavyweight/Cruiserweight when he started mixing it with the big boys. He was usually floating just above 200lbs.
Roy Jones did excellent against James Tony (who should have been a heavyweight to begin with).
Michael Moore was also a LightHeavyweight, who ballooned to Heavyweight quickly and defeated Holyfield.
I don't think that it is unthinkable that Roy could beat Holyfield. The dexterity and handspeed would favor Roy, against Holyfield, who was never considered a big hitter.

Holyfield was the unified cruiserweight champion, and then the unified heavyweight champion. Outside the Olympics he didn`t fight at light heavyweight. Holyfield would batter the much smaller Jones into submission around round 2 or 3. Jones was the best pound for pound fighter for nearly a decade. Lets pick opponents around his size and then do some match ups.

That is a discredit to holyfield to even mention Roy Jones Jr. in the same breath. Evander is truly the last of the great heavyweights, especially since he was a converted heavyweight. Evander would destroy Roy quickly or when he caught up with him. Roy's legacy will always be suspect because he picked his fights. Let's see what he will accomplish when he returns to the ring. Holyfield will always be remembered as the fighter who destroyed the image of iron mike in their first fight. Also do you remember the great championship fight he had as a light heavyweight against dwight braxton? That fight was a mini ali and smokin joe battle.

Jones is 1-0 at heavyweight, while a prime Holyfield was a monster. I would not count out Jones because of his natural gifts, but I think Holy wins it.

A "Prime" Evander Holyfield beats Roy pretty handily, and it probaly would happen pretty fast. Nothing against Roy, but, I think he'd be target practice for Evander (at Heavyweight). Real Deal dealt with much more dangerous fighters during his years as a heavy. For instance, think about the heavy barrages by Riddick Bowe in the wins as well as the losses in the trilogy (w/ Holyfield). Do you really think that Roy could have survived those fights and lived to fight again? Do you really think that Roy had more power at heavy than Bowe? Evander hurt Bowe....Do you really think that Roy, who ballooned up to Heavy could have better taken the hooks, and, upper cuts better? Do you think that Roy would have been okay seeing Evander taking all of that punishment had it been him (instead of Bowe) dishing it out, and still not Knocking him(Evander out)? I mean, how does Roy respond? Is he in awe? Does he get flustered, like Iron Mike? Does he get caught trying to figure out just what will it take to put Evander away? Like I said earlier, Holyfield wins the fight.....quick,fast, and in a hurry.

If they fight at heavyweight...of course Holyfield wins...but it would be an ugly fight w/ minimal action (Jones is smart enough not to stand there a get hit by a much bigger guy).
With that said..if we take both fighters in their prime at Lt. Heavyweight ...it would be a much better fight...and I'd take Jones 8 days a week...and twice on Sundays in that match up.
Jones is the best non-heavyweight of his era...and among the greatest all-time. Holyfield was a good Lt. Heavyweight... but a superior heavyweight.

Jones might have gained early rounds, yet at too super a cost, taking heavyweight punishment on his middleweight's physique. Holy blasted Tyson by wearing him down. An attrition combat, that's what each Holyfield combat has ever been, might see a brutal end to RJJ's undefeated streak (assuming you do no longer call his DQ against griffin a loss).

Holyfield would beat the crap out of Jones! Jones was barely serviceable at Heavyweight. Pretty decent at Lt. Heavyweight, and one of the best ever at 168 and below. Holyfield by ring death!!!
