Marine Corps gets deployed for anywhere to 6 to 8 or 9 months depending on what his MOS is. Its the Army who gets deployed to Iraq for a year to almost 2 not the Marines.

Marines from 9 to 15 months
Army no less then 15 + months just recently changed
Special Forces 2 to 6 months
Times in Iraq are more now due to the lack or forces to switch out ever 6 months to a year period. They extended ever one there to 15 + months allow troops headed home to spend times with family's because they are deployed at such long tours. Some of you get some strange numbers, and what ever your reading it from or hear it from its out of date.the post above is also right,it depends on mos two.

Well the General in charge of Special Forces in Iraq has been there 2 1/2 years already and was just ask to stay for another year.
But it all depends on what branch of the military and what your job is.
Some people are deployed for 3 months
some for 6 months
some for 7 months
some for 12 months
And for any of the above, the deployment can be extended.

nicely first, the army easily has uncomplicated education for ten weeks or so and then has their activity education afterwards which varies looking on what activity they chosen. uncomplicated education is annoying yet like maximum human beings say, it is 20 p.c. actual, eighty p.c. psychological. they must construct right into someone they might use so it will be annoying. dont concern however hundreds of thousands of human beings have long previous via uncomplicated education and come out extra constructive than high quality. the army easily an excellent type of non-wrestle activity. he will study to combat yet whilst he have been given an administrative activity or such, there's a reliable probability he will in no way wrestle. if he does, the army trains it is infantrymen to have the skill to take care themselves. tell him reliable success and thank you from every person.

it all depends on his mission, when he'll get a replacement, and the unit he goes with, i don't know about marines personally, but I'm finishing up a year-long deployment in the Air Force, our deployments are usually 4-6 months longs, however, we may get deployed, as in my case, with an army unit and stay longer than usual, it's rare, but it does happen. I would imagine that the USMC is similar.

There is no time limit for troops deployed into CENTCOM. There orders dictate the estimated time period.....or until mission complete......... But normally I believe for Marines it is a 6 month tour of duty.
For all you anti-war f*gs leave your opinions to yourselves it doesn't answer the question or help anyone out.

first of all, ICMC... the president doesn't make those decisions... American Presidency seems more "kingly" then it really is, because he does symbolize and represent us, America...
but legally, he is one of three equal parts of government... he doesnt hold as much power as most people seem to think.
"All the president is, is a glorified public relations man who spends his time flattering, kissing, and kicking people to get them to do what they are supposed to do anyway."
