It alldepends on their lifestyle. Good diet and stress free living will get you more years. Feeding crapinabag chepest stuff on the shelf and having a stressful living situation will shorten the dogs life.

They live a lot longer when you spell their name correctly, dachshund. 15 to 18 years with 16 to 17 being normal.
