ok, Let me explain this more simply for the slower ones. When you don't have a perfect deity to set moral standards and make laws, you end up deciding what is morally right and what is morally wrong yourself. Correct? yes, ok So therefore Atheism guns it self down whether you claim to be a deity or not, you automatically do it yourself, thus becoming what you hate. Wiccans, your little demons for gods, have to do little tricks to please you, like floating tables and giving dates of death, My God created your existence and there's. So here's my point. Tell me on whatever terms you want, Why the Bible is wrong. I want specifics, not the crap you have been answering with lately. And for the idiots out there asking how old I am. I am 16, in High school.

justin, you're 16, it's your time to open up to the world, to experience and experiment things. to read about everything under the sun, to doubt any and every truism told you.
but then again, 16 is the age when you see things as black or white and forget about the beautiful shades of grey and all the colors of the rainbow.

You can't even drive a car or get the use of an apostrophe correct, and yet you think you can better describe other people's religions than they can? Never mind, I'll let that slide.

1) You make the bogus assumption that atheists "hate" deities. That's like say I hate Freddy Kruger because he killed a bunch of people.

2) You make the bogus assumption that there are only two options when it comes to morality: follow an ancient book, or make up everything on your own. In reality, morality isn't fully based on either, not even for Christians. Take a sociology or an ethics class.

3) If you're saying the only thing that keeps you from being a criminial is fear and dictation from a boogey man, then you're clearly not all that "moral" to begin with.

4) Your claim that your "God" created Wiccan deity holds no more validity than the claim that some other religion created YOUR deity and YOUR existence.

5) You want me to tell you why I think the Bible is wrong? It does not match up with history or science, it is NOT a good source of morals (filled with violence, rape, destruction...have you even read it?), and on top of all that it's a poorly connected bunch of largely boring stories. Have you even read other religion's canon out there?

It doesn't matter, though. I'm sure you'll just give the best answer to some other Christian zombie who agrees with you. Because you're obviously not looking for answers. You're just looking for attention, and fans to cheer on your ignorance.

Knock it off. You're baiting and trolling while insulting everyone on here that isn't Christian.

You want to know why the bible is a lie?

Talking snakes. Talking burning bushes. Talking donkeys. 900 year old men. Mankind being made from dirt. A little boat carrying two of every animal on the planet, their food, with only 8 people to care for them for 40 days. The fact that China has never recorded a massive flood, in the rocks or on paper, that the Christians claim to have happened. A stick turning into a snake. A sea parting at command. The fact that nowhere in history has a Jesus been recorded in any journal except for the bible, by ANYONE. The fact that a mass exodus of slaves happened at ANY TIME in history from Egypt (losers or not, someone would have recorded it somewhere, even if it wasn't the Egyptians). A man born of a virgin woman the son of a god. Water being turned to wine at a touch. A man walking on water. A man rising from the grave after three days dead.

AND NOT A BIT OF IT BEING RECORDED ANYWHERE BUT IN THE BIBLE.

You already know why. Its because the bible has more fantasy in it than a Piers Anthony novel.

You may believe in fairy tales, but I don't. I hope the "Under-the-bed Monster" doesn't get you tonight, and that your unicorn ride to work goes well tomorrow morning.

Please, let your god exist long enough to fix the education system in this country. Because if you are living proof of how good a job we're doing, we are less than a decade from another dark age.

1 - After a question mark, you are on a new sentence, Caps required.

2 - In the middle of a sentence, no Caps unless it is a proper noun. So is not a proper noun.

3 - Don't spout off about other people's beliefs when you don't even understand your own.

4 - There's means there is. "My God created your existence and there is." 'nuff said on that point.

5 - Your Bible is full of contradictions, and even others that believe as you do tell me that it is not to be taken word for word literally.

6 - As a Wiccan, let me tell you something. Never have I required my deities to float tables or tell me when I am going to die. I worship Nature, not some egomaniacal freak from above. Get it straight or get off the internet.

The point of atheism is the rejection of belief in any god or deity. Morality, like it or not, is ACTUALLY enforced by a part of the brain - sociopaths lack the capability to make use of this 'moral center of the brain' for whatever reason.
The ability to make decisions based on that morality is not a qualifier for godhood in any form, most atheists arent atheists because they dont believe in morals, morality or ethics, it's that they think the existance of a supernatural entity creating the universe in a day (or any other relgious beliefs) is a load of hogwash.
The Bible isn't right or wrong, except in the eye of the beholder. It's merely a collection of stories some people wrote to help people live their lives within the accepted morality that their society, at the time, lived by.

I think more than sufficient arguments as to the validity of non-belief have been made. Keep reading if you need more 'proof'.
I've failed to see anyone EVER prove there is a single deity.
As far as morals go, people generally base theirs on the society's around them. For example, I'm pretty sure the ancient Egyptians had laws and morals to follow and they certainly did not need to believe the Christian version of God. Same with the Greeks and a lot of others.
Wiccans may have deities they refer to but they mainly worship nature.
When I see the beauty of anything, I see earth, wind, fire, water, masculine and feminine aspects. No where do I see evidence of a single male creation deity.
When your done being so angry, maybe you can view reality a little better.

"When you don't have a perfect deity to set moral standards and make laws, you end up deciding what is morally right and what is morally wrong yourself. Correct?"

/yawn

Yeah, just like how when I was born, I rewrote the laws of Canada to suit me. Then when I moved to the USA, I rewrote the laws of the USA to suit me again, because I'm a litle deity.

Wait...that's not true! It turns out that society had been around long before I showed up, figured out enough laws and principles to stick around for a while without self destructing, and imposed it on me when I arrived.

It SHOULD be obvious to anyone capable of thought why there are no societies in the world that have morals like "Do not allow your neighbor to live past nightfall" or "Steal everything you want."

The Bible is wrong because it claims all kinds of stupid things that aren't true. The world wasn't made in six days, we aren't descended from Adam and Eve, and we don't die because of "sin."

i just love Christians with idiotic logic makes my day
i do agree with the first part when you don't have a comic book that tells you how to act(the bible)
"you end up deciding what is morally right and what is morally wrong yourself" but after that you claim that if you decide what is morally wright for yourself you are a god(wow a christian that actually makes compliments without knowing it but still)
so bow down to you're superiors if you consider us gods pls fell free to do so
but the important thing is we don't consider ourselves gods because we can decide for ourselves
you say that you're "God created your existence" I'm sry
but when you will come up with some prof pls feel free to inform us
and now some errors from you're comic book(some because i don't like to spend time on people who don't deserve it)
one of the stories which has the most errors is Noe's ark
1 there are 10 million species of animals on earth let me see you get 20 million and food for them on a boat
2 if everything die then where did the disses come from was everyone on the ark(both animals and humans) infested
with every disses or what happened did you're merciful god put them back in the world
3 again all of humanity is based on incest and again all the languages part as well as every race

"you end up deciding what is morally right yourself?"

Wrong.

Moreover, "having moral values" does not equate to "being a deity." That you even think this tells me you either aren't thinking, or else you got that "argument" from your youth pastor. It doesn't hold water.

Tell me, how can you call your god "good" if there is no external morality, only things defined so by your god? (Which, by the way, also destroys any chance whatsoever at theodicy, since your god is automatically responsible for evil if she is the one who defines good and evil.)

Catherine E has a brilliantly witty reply.

No, let US explain it clearly for YOU, since you are apparently slow. A God is a DEITY. It is a SUPERNATURAL BEING. A human being is not a god simply because they make rules or decide what is moral. That is something that YOU are making up and projecting onto us. Making our own rules and deciding what is moral does not make us deities or supernatural beings any more than you picking up one of your lost teeth makes you the tooth fairy.

And you want an example of the Bible being wrong? OK...
**Jesus himself said: "For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you." And "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
Now go ahead, and start making your excuses for why Jesus "didn't mean it THAT way" or why "you shouldn't test the Lord your God" and all the other things that believers make up to excuse the fact that Jesus was wrong at best, and lied at worst. You're full of it. Jesus was very clear there. And I would bet everything I have that YOU don't even believe him. Example: Imagine you need a liver transplant, and you only have TWO choices. You can either:
(A) Pray to God to heal you. (Using the above quote from Jesus as a reference) or:
(B) You can go to a doctor, and let *science* save your life.
What would you do?
See...you believe in science over religion, too.

And let's now take a look at the several places in the Bible where Jesus says VERY clearly that in order to get into Heaven, you need to sell everything you own and give to the poor. And no, he wasn't kidding, and yes, he meant it THAT WAY, and yes, he meant YOU TOO. So have you done that yet? Of COURSE NOT. And WHY?(Now let's hear the excuses start again... "He didn't mean it THAT way...") No...you haven't done it because deep down in places you don't want to acknowledge, you don't BELIEVE him. Speaking of hypocrite!
You are a master at ad hominem attacks, but you have no substance to any argument that you attempt to make. Come back and try again when you've grown up and know how to present an intelligent argument.

"you end up deciding what is morally right and what is morally wrong yourself."

as did you, when you considered Christianity and judged it to be worthy of determining how you should live your life.

"So therefore Atheism guns it self down whether you claim to be a deity or not, you automatically do it yourself, thus becoming what you hate. "

take a logic class, kiddo, you're embarrassing yourself.

"Atheist's"
what did the poor apostrophe ever do to you, that you should abuse it so?
