If your appearance is required in court, you will receive a subpoena. Ignoring this order will subject you to arrest.

To subpoena someone,an order from a judge to appear in court is issued. They are issued all of the time and you better obey it.You are not required to give any testimony once you are there however.Keep in mind, that how you answer or do not answer can get you in a lot of trouble:or out of trouble.
A subpoena is a small thing,an indictment from a grand jury is a big thing.
If you choose to not answer the subpoena,a bench warrant will be issued.
Answer the thing and tell the truth or say nothing--but answer it.

Yes you be subpoena'd to go to court....it may be a bit later this year but you will get one if the case goes to trial. Answer it, or you could get yourself into trouble. Take the stand and just tell the truth, its that easy. I am sure if the person murdered was someone you cared about you would want the witnesses to tell the truth. Its our Civic Duty. Its not as bad as you think and they will go over everything with you before you go to court.

If you are subpeaned to appear to court you have to go, but you have to get a notification by mail or by an court officer. If you don't show up then the judge can put a warrant for your arrest.

supena means that you will have to testify in court..and if you dont go they can hold you in contempt of court which means they can put you in jail until you are ready to talk / answer any questions they have....if you got beat up by police then you need to make a report to your local offices....or e mail to your state government.
