I'm a tenant in a room in my landlord's house. He has this habit of coming into my room for no good reason and then breaking wind. Then he goes out guffawing like it's some sort of joke. To be honest I think it's not on. What should I do?

If you don't say something your going to blow up at him someday and then find your self living in a more uncomfortable situation. But if I were you I would start looking now
This guy has no concept of boundaries

Do you have a lease and are you paying rent.?.
.If so you have tenent /landlord rights. And you have the right to 24 hour notice before he comes in your room.
He is violating your privacy.!
You now have the right to sue him for breach of contract
(you have the right to an expectation of privacy)
He is breaking the lease

Lock your door when he's around.

Spray air freshener at him the moment he arrives and don't stop 'til he leaves. He'll get the idea.

I'd say sue him for harassment and assault but I'm not sure farting toward someone qualifies. A fella in Scotland I think it was was banned from his local for farting the place up. After the smoking ban people started to notice.

Other than that'd I'd say move. Most people will jokingly fart on siblings, and couples will do it to each other as a gag, but other than that I think it's beyond the pale. The man sounds like a pig. Maybe he *wants*you to leave.

well if your renting he has no business entering your space without permission. Tell him to respect your boundaries or you will report him, he as a renter cannot just come and go in the space you rent. Also you can ask him to stop farting like a ******* hog when he comes near you, it shows he is of low intelligence!! Maybe he will be offended and leave you alone. Or you can look elsewhere for a place to live..

Put a sugn outside your door reading
"Farting is not allowed"
If he comes in and farts, deduct a portion of his rent, and make an issue of it. Keep a log of when this happens and reduce his rent. He cannot get rid of you without finding you alternative accommodation. He cannot report you either because your rights have been violated.

Personally I really, really, hate people who have not control of their arses and just fart all over the place.

It is funny but next time you need to throw up after a night on the beers just knock on his door, spew and start laughing.

He sounds like a fun guy and will take it well

Why does he come to your room.
Get a pit bull or a lock on your door if permitted to do so.

This is unacceptable behavior, and tell him next time when he blasts one save the gas for some flambe.

Men! My husband thinks that's funny too. After 22 years, it's not. Never really was. Just try not to make a big deal out of it and maybe he'll quit.

Hahah...sorry for laughing at your misfortune.....

Quite a quandry as he is your landlord.

I would say, you might want to choose a direct route. Tell him that you consider it harassment, and you do not think it is funny. Tell him to discontinue his behavior and if he continues to do so, it would certainly be considered harassment.

Don't threaten him legally, just put it in his mind.
