Should you break the ice or just continue to leer at them from a distance?

Keep to yourself, but don't be afraid to say hello once in awhile. Your neighbors are your best asset to watch your place and prevent burglaries, as they can call the police if they spot suspicious people. Cultivate a relationship with the seniors in your area. They are retired, around all day, and can really watch your area while you are at work. I invite my senior neighbors to supper and help them around their houses. They appreciate that, and they help me by being there to watch what goes on.

What is really sad in this day and age is that folks email South Africa three times a day yet don't even know the names of their next door neighbors. How sad this is!

Just one, I live in a condo. A lady and her cat, is over top my unit. There is so much noise, coming from up there at time, about all I can do is leer at them from a distance.

Yes! I think this is pretty common nowadays. We're lucky to have said one 'hi' to someone who lives on our street. I think people's lives are just so busy and hectic nowadays. It's funny because my older coworker used to live on the same street as me YEARS ago and said that the whole neighborhood would get together for BBQs and games. What a difference!

Yes, I try not to talk to any of them. I don't "leer" at any of them. That just be stupid and childish.

I have generally kept to myself at every property that I've lived at. I grew up in the country where EVERYONE knew your business, so now I prefer to remain annonymus (sp?).

I lady who lives across from my apartment leaves her blinds open while undressing and I love the sight. We never talk and I know she wants people to watch her. She strips down butt naked and I love it!

I'll say hello and make brief polite conversation... so there's nobody I talk extensively to, but nobody I avoid.
