Does anyone know how to get rid of fleas on a dog? We've tried everything: washing her in dawn, rubbing flea medicine on her, a flea collar, washing her in flea shampoo. None of it seems to work.
We live in an apartment and have to take her out to use the restroom, so that's where she's getting them from. But, we have no alternative to that. They are also getting into our home. Any way to prevent or even treat that??
Please help!

We bathe her regularly (twice a week) and use a mixture of coat strengthening and flea shampoo. But lately, we've been using just the flea shampoo and it's not working.

Frontline is the only type of flea treatment that works for my dogs and cats. I have two pets with flea allergies (one of my dogs and one of my cats) so not treating fleas is a non-option. I have tried natural treatment with zero success. Frontline has always been consistent and highly affective.

Well to begin you'll need to keep up with the flea treatments, but you must use something like Advantage or frontline, as opposed to the cheap store brands, otherwise you're not going to get anywhere. Frontline will be your best bet because it is waterproof. You'll also need to make sure you're using a flea comb to get off as many fleas as possible each day (making sure to put the fleas into a glass of vinegar or alcohol to kill the fleas), make sure to vacuum your house every other day (if not every day), and wash all bedding associated with the dog in hot water. Unfortunately with an infestation there is no quick way to get rid of fleas, so you'll need to make sure you keep up with the cleaning and definitely keep up with the flea treatments. After the fleas disappear, you'll still need to keep up with the flea treatments to avoid future infestations, but with patience, everything should clear upi soon.

you are going to have toget an exterminator to clean the place of fleas and then they will have to come back in 2 weeks in order to get rid of the eggs ,that the fleas lay . or you could try bombing your apt and go from there but again you would have to do it again in 2 wks as well . so it really is up to you and then get the dog on some front line or k9 advantix . I use k 9 and I have never had fleas in my house or on my dog . good luck .

"If you don't use Advantage scratch your ears" I love that comercial and the flea stuff works great. My friend got a kitten that was out doors and COVERED in fleas, she got some of that from the vet and the kitten layed on a towel and when she got up, the white towel was covered in dead fleas. The stuff is amazing.
